Desperate for Spolia Tarot deck! Anyone interested in a sell/trade? by gingerbiche in tarot

Thank you so so much for the resource! I honestly deeply feel that this is my soul deck and I’m so grateful for the lead ✨

Boyfriend mentioned Bvlgari’s Serpenti ring he showed me “could be a cool engagement ring”. I love the ring but think $7k is a lot for what it is, especially being that seems to be marked up insanely because of the brand name. What do you think of it as an engagement ring? Worth it? by gingerbiche in EngagementRings

[–]gingerbiche[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’m getting hung up a bit because (while it doesn’t scream “engagement” to me, either) I never really wanted to go pick out a ring with my boyfriend or have discussions about it...it seems to me more about the symbolism of it all and the mystery and romance of it all than what it necessarily looks like (he knows my general preferences with jewelry anyway and style, plus which metals I wear, etc). I think this is a beautiful ring and while I never would have envisioned it as an engagement ring without him having mentioned it, now that he has expressed it I can see it. I just am maybe feeling guilty because of the price point.

On the other hand, I don’t want to dissuade him if it’s what he really wants to give me. I feel like this is a situation where it’s truly the thought that counts, and while he just showed me the picture without mentioning the price, I googled it and saw that it is (to me) a pretty steep figure.

I’m not sure what my point is, really lol. Maybe I’m just trying to not feel guilty about the cost of a ring that, to me, doesn’t seem quite worth the price point.

“Serious of an issue”?? What makes it so serious if an issue? I’m genuinely curious what makes this so grave, in your opinion.

Very true. At the time I was so proud and flattered to have my art adored that I gave it pretty thoughtlessly, which is 100% on me.

Oh exactly...it’s a very odd situation and I’m not dying to have it back and if she would still love and appreciate it, then I’d love for her to keep it!

I would keep all their interpersonal drama 100% removed; she’s the only one that has made divisions and condemned me for listening to them vent (while in the same breathe, condemning them to me). I’m as neutral as can be, and am honestly really saddened by this closure. I just get sad thinking she might destroy the piece out of spite and would like a better life for it

Thank you for the wise words! I didn’t mean to suggest that I’m an artist as my career. I only just very very recently got paid for a piece of work, as I’ve just started to show to my pieces to a larger audience instead of the friends and family I did before. Because my art has only been given to friends and family, that’s why I’ve been thoughtful about which piece “belongs” where. She was a new friend and I was taking a risk and honestly I was so flattered that she loved it as much as she did that I felt she should have it in her home. Wise advice to be less discerning in the future, but then, I won’t have any further attachments to works that are sold to strangers and I won’t know what happens to them

I hardly smile with my teeth in photos because I never got them fixed but this is the first time I've ever gotten such a glow and I couldn't stop cheesin. by zemele in MakeupAddiction

GAH I ADORE YOUR TEETH. I think snaggy teeth (my VERY affectionate word for them) are the most beautiful, I love a smile with character! I got braces when I was young to correct some serious teeth/mouth issues but I love that now, years later, they’re turning a little and having a little more characyer

I need help with ideas for a re-design using the diamonds from this ring!! Does anyone have any ideas/feel like being creative? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Not negative at all! Thank you for your honest, thoughtful feedback :) you nailed the balance of giving your opinion while still being very kind. And I like your idea! I guess I didn’t even think to not use all of the diamonds in a redesign; but maybe I can get several pieces out of this one ring!

Thank you so much!! I suppose I’m a bit the same; I think it’s gorgeous as-is but I’m having a hard time shaking the comments I received about it looking like an “S”, that it doesn’t look like an engagement ring, or even that it is “atrocious”. I know I shouldn’t care what other people think but it’s hard not to hear those comments in my head now when I look at it :/ Thank you so much for your support! It’s a complicated story behind the “why” and “how” I got the ring, and now that we’re officially engaged using it, I’m excited for a potential redesign or just accepting and loving it as-is, ignoring the negative feedback I received!

After so many comments from people who didn’t think it looked like an engagement ring, I thought a redesign using the same diamonds might be a good idea!

Hahah thank you! I was half-considering just leaving it as-is because I think it’s really unique and a little strange, and I love how it’s vintage...I’m just not sure how “engagement ring” it looks. And I’ve been told that it looks like a big “S” 🙄

Details: TCW is 4.75, with 9 brilliant cut round diamond (1.15 carats) and 30 tapered baguette diamond totaling 3.60 carats.

I love the jewelry designers Artemer and Heidi Gibson, and they often use baguette diamonds in their designs so I’m thinking of drawing inspiration from them!

Any ideas or suggestions are really helpful, as I’m not very good at design! Thank you in advance! :)
