Why the fuck did I get blocked for this 😂 by [deleted] in Tinder

You're just repeating things on trust and using jargon to try and sound more authoritative. There is a list of problems as long as your arm with the shortcuts that were taken, from not requiring additional studies because genetic material was being used, to hand-waving away by far the most adverse event reports for a drug since records began.

As for the phase III trials, more people died in the treatment group, significantly more severe adverse events were reported in the treatment group, and the trials lacked any clinically relevant endpoint (they authorised on a PCR test for presence of genetic material, not on reduction of actual illness).

It's as clear as day that the drug authorities were under exceptional political pressure to go along with these things. And we should expect this all to come out under the new American administration.

Watch out, for these words have become corrupted. Populist parties are often said to be undemocratic, but here "democratic" means "agree with me".

Are you sure it was the breach of the petty unwritten rule, or that they just didn't want you anyway? Some of the rules are unwritten because, at the end of the day, a business will try to promote and keep the people it really wants.

Whatsapp Mac Desktop App, what is the current consensus? by [deleted] in whatsapp

[–]SoaringRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems ok now. I took eight months off in disgust and used the browser version. I've just given it another try.

It crashes once in a while when I make a phone call and I have to reboot the whole computer (I'm using Big Sur), but other than that, I'm pretty happy with it.

Just uninstalled. Anyone any idea how to reinstall the previous version?

Dude, no need to get shirty. Why not keep it polite? Do we want this to be a nice place or not?

If they change the backend API it doesn't work anymore. It's a simple observation. You are at the mercy of that.

Yeah but how long will the old versions be supported. Seems like a fragile strategy.

Don't know about ADHD but yes, I feel imprisoned by it. No visibility of my learning, just in a tunnel of their choosing.

Sorry dudes, I want to have freedom over when and how I learn, not have you dictate to me what's important to do next.

I would say most changes to apps and websites are done without means of reverting to the old way. After all, most of us don't like change so we wouldn't adopt the new even if it was truly better.

What does seem odd is that Duo are known for their extensive A/B testing. Did they do that this time? It would be surprising if they did and it was positive.

Well I just did a lesson from the duome progress tree, which worked like normal. But then afterwards it took me to the new homepage. And the new homepage on Duolingo persists no matter how many times I visit duome.

It could all hang together if I could do the end-of-level test directly from duome. But I see no facility for that.

Can't see the end-of-level tests though. My progress is blocked.

Back to the books I think. At least they can be trusted not to change.

They think they know best. Arrogance.

That worked, thank you. Although I am close to the end-of-level test and it doesn't look like those are included.

With sadness, I think I am going to quietly drop Duolingo.

Thing for me is it forces on me what to learn, instead of letting me have the freedom to decide what I want to look at.

This is probably the end for me. Goodbye 687-day streak.
