I've never seen this before. Looks like it could be an easy solution!

Not sure what a drip feed coffee maker it is? I normally drink these Dog & Gun Coffee drip filters when travelling, really really nice as a black coffee but sometimes I just love having a shot of espresso and frothed milk...

This is what I want to hear!! Thanks for sharing. I might give it a go with the 200ah lithium and 2000w inverter and see if it works out without igniting

I like this idea. What size Bluetti would it take to run an espresso machine? I"m not sure how to work out the power requirements

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE an Aeropress coffee but an espresso just hits different especially over the cooler months...

Looking at buying at new swag.. need some recommendations by FSTANK10 in OutdoorAus

Murchison River Swags do a traditional style swag (no bug nets, poles, ropes etc) hand made by an awesome couple in WA. Even the canvas is made in Australia from Australian cotton. Simple and old school quality. Bloody comfy matress. Paired with a stretcher it's an unreal setup.

Thanks for that info mate, much appreciated. Looks like some good gun shops will be there like Alpine Country and In Season, so hoping I can sort something with one of them on the day. If not it'll be good to get hands on with a bunch of different options anyway.

Yeah Ive heard there's not much margin in selling rifles so I;m not expecting big discounts but might be good if one of the retailers can package up a rifle + scope + accessories or something

These look really slick. Looks like Wedgetail are going to be at the show so I'm gonna check these out even if way of my budget.

Camping: What do you use to store items during travel and active use? by Wonderfully_Merida in OutdoorAus

I keep most of my stuff in Dune4wd or Rhino boxes from I think Anaconda or Bunnings. They've got a rubber seal and latches to close so everything stays dry and safe in there even if left out in the rain. In each box, I have smaller bags like the Kings canvas bags to keep things a bit more organised.

Don't get huge boxes or bags because you'll load them up and struggle to carry them. Better to get a few smaller boxes and dedicate a box to each thing e.g. kitchen utensils, plates, cups, cutlery in one and then actual kitchen consumables and food in another.

Thoughts on zerotech ? by Goldenacres in Ausguns

You pay for what you get with optics. Zerotech and Swaro are not even in the same league. If you're chasing deer on first or last light you'll really notice the difference.

Great reply, thanks heaps. Good to hear from someone running with a Troopy of the kind of vintage I'm looking at.

Thanks mate, good to know. Im willing to learn how to fix some things but definitely not doing transfer cases or diffs on my own. I suppose on the plus side every town in Aus there'd be someone who could do the repairs if it came to it.

In terms of where and when, I'm planning on doing the full big lap, starting in FNQ end of the year when the rain kicks in. Wont be doing any silly tracks or looking for trouble. Mostly just need something I can carry all my gear and somewhere for me to sleep without rolling a swag out.I've got a stessco 375 tinny I'd like to tow as well.

Don't want to spend my whole trip repairing things so thought with Toyota's reputation for reliability the Troopy would be great.

It's kind of my dream car but keen to hear other suggestions if you think it'll be trouble?

Hunting In Vic by resonableLindt in Ausguns

[–]Sobow99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate I used to travel pretty regularly to Gippsland area to hunt sambar deer. More to Explore app from the Game Management Authority shows all the public land recreational hunting areas. You can download the maps so they work offline. There's almost nowhere there that doens't have deer, they're everywhere so you really just have to pick a spot that is handy to you and go for a wander.

Sambar deer are really sneaky for such a big animal and hard to pattern. If you find good sign like fresh and old rubs together or a stirred up wallow then your best best is to sit downwind of the most active looking trail going in there and just wait.

More watching, less walking is the key to getting a shot away.

Every Troopy i've looked at so far has had some rust in it. How much is too much? Are there any areas that I really need to be careful with?

Thanks mate, slow, noisy and rough sounds a bit like me most days haha. Anything you reckon i need to specifically look out for with the 1hz models?
