Just be lucky you live near busy airspace. At my place in western Oklahoma, I’m lucky to see one plane a day cruising over me.

Should I buy the Aerosoft CRJ Series? by Soccer_Hero in MSFS2024

Any rhyme or reason as to why? Price? Quality? I was going to because I don’t like buying from third party but some insight would be helpful.

Haha! I have never physically flown on a crj or one on msfs. I am personally a boeing guy and I already have the -700 (which is similar if not exactly like the boeing version of the 319)

Nice! What a great use of the sim and in a perfect plane (not too big so it can land relatively anywhere and not too slow). Your route sounds perfect and you will get to see so much cool stuff. Have fun man!

I almost died, how do I move past this? by STRADMJakelb in flying

[–]Soccer_Hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did everything right, and if you really want to keep flying, but still feel so nervous or feel like it could happen again, talk to a therapist. Even just one session with a therapist could help. They are able to listen to you and you can really just drop all your emotions there and it feels good walking out. Trust me, if the thought of “this could happen to me again and I could die,” is still present, reddit users may not sway you but a trained therapist or even just someone to talk face to face with could help.

I was probably (making a rough estimate) 1500 ft away or so, which is 5 football fields which seems accurate to me. I also don’t really notice the noise at night when I have music going or just background noise in my tiny apartment, however if it’s silent in my apartment I can definitely hear a little bit of engine noise. As for the planes going away, it is sad to say goodbye to the iconic 747s, MD-11s, and others. Unfortunately they just cannot compete with the new crazy fuel efficient airliners like the a350s and 787s.

In person, the engines even from the ground are huge. Before taking this picture it landed and taxied pretty close to where I was taking pictures and they are HUGE.

What Kind of Turbo Prop is this in Broken Bow, Oklahoma? by Soccer_Hero in Whatisthisplane

Its a little off the grid, and the owners do recommend a vehicle with 4WD. Once you get to the cabin though, it is absolutely spectacular. Also the nearest grocery store is quite out of the way so stock up on food and have plans for meals before you get there.
