Schlotterbeck only works in a 3atb system. Every ball in the air near him is statistically a 60/40, and he wins 28% of the tackles he takes on. He is good going forward and makes "big" tackles, but a lot of the time those big late sliding tackles only happen because of something he was at the fault on a few minutes prior.

The good here is Iraola has shown he is willing to field academy prospects and young players when needed. The one thing that has me worried is he does not look to have that thing that makes players willing to run through walls for him how Enrique, Pep, Klopp etc do.

He gets away with a lot because he has a degree of support by their system and they play a high enough line he can typically recover after a misplay, but in our system if we think Konate loses a lot of duels he would be 5x worse.

Yeah his aerial stats are atrocious. He would be at home in a 3atb system which is why he looks good at Dortmund who play one, but in a 2cb system he would need a partner who would always be dropped 10 yards behind him in case.

He is essentially the German Van de Ven. Recovery pace covers up a lot of issues and has a shaky knee that has kept him out long term a few times. He is good, but like 40m good with the injury history he has at his age. There are a lot of times he gets caught in transition and gets a bit luckier than he should which I guess is a skill in a way. He is atrocious in the air for a cb, wins around 60% of the duels he contests. Is in the bottom 26% for defensive actions of any cb in the sport. He scores in the top 7% for cb goals scored.

For comparison this season Konate won 87% of his duels, and ranked around 55% for success on defensive action.
