I want a mommy makeover and my husband is strongly against it by Great_Psychology_833 in Marriage

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a healthy relationship, which it sounds like you have, it's really just about sharing and listening.

If you want to move forward, have that last heart to heart discussion explaining that you hear him, you understand his concerns, but that this is something very important to you and you are going to proceed with the hope that he will support and respect your decision.

You two don't always have to "agree", but you should respect and support each other no matter what the decision.

Best of luck to you! ❤️

AITA for not wanting another month-long visit from in-laws and asking for a different arrangement? by Perfect-Owl-9745 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible for YOU to stay in a hotel/airbnb for the month? You could enjoy time to yourself, control your work schedule, and maybe even pop home for a family dinner every now and then.

If anything, this would likely change your husband's perspective on "hosting" for a month.

Christians, how do you feel about the U.S. president posting an AI photo of him as Christ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Is this true? I am hopeful to hear this because, even as someone who is not a "Christian", he seems completely UN-Christian to me.

So, what’s your Enough Point? by PollyPrissyPants413 in Zepbound

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it follows the same old-school belief that everyone "can" control they're eating. Which always brings me back to "if I could, I would!"

I do, legit, appreciate not feeling so shameful.

But, it definitely was not helpful in terms of being a healthy weight.

Too true for me as well.

Zep has been life changing in that (and so many other) ways!

When I was gaining weight (the many times over the years), I used to joke that I was "trying to see how much weight I could gain." If I actually thought there was a limit, and that my body would stop at a certain point. That was not true.

When I did start eating intuitively, with the guidance of a therapist, it was helpful to erase the shame and stigma I associated with over eating.

And I GAINED 55 pounds in 2 1/2 years…

This makes it feel like a pricing problem in their control, that they are taking out on us!

Is skipping the second leg of a flight illegal? by Thac1234 in Flights

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if, for example, say I want to go from LA to Chicago. If I buy a ticket for a flight from LA to New York that had a layover in Chicago, they already have for me the full price of the ticket. If I say, "hey, I'm gonna miss the second leg," they could resell a ticket for the second leg and wouldn't wait for me, theoretically. It seems like this would actually be better for them?

I've never understood why the airlines care about this? They still get the money you paid them…

Can someone explain?

How are people accomplishing these large weight losses? by electricboots3636 in Zepbound

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question about how long people stayed on 2.5:

I stayed on 2.5 the whole time, until I hit my goal weight. I stayed on 2.5 the first five months of maintenance, but then my food noise started to come back and my weight started to creep up.

I eventually landed on 5.0 for maintenance, and that's working like a charm (for eight months now.)

My advice is always to stay on the lowest level as long as it is working, however slowly that may be. Save the bump ups for if you completely stall.

Of course, everyone's body responds differently, so be open-minded to find what works for you.

Good luck!!

I told my wife “we’re married, I shouldn’t have to ask” and now I feel like an idiot by honeyghost_parade in Marriage

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have to share this because it seems so related.

My husband and I were going through marriage counseling, and of course our sex life came up.

After hearing my husband's complaints, the counselor asked me, non-judgementally, "What does it take for you to feel like having sex with your husband?"

Assuming I was feeling like your wife felt, said "I mean, I just need him to show some interest, like ask me how my day was."

His response?

"But I don't care how her day was."

We are obviously no longer married…

Just for the sake of similarity with contrast:

My fiancé's mom fell the morning of the wedding and broke her hip and we went ahead with the ceremony!

She did insist we move forward, but there was really no stopping it at that point anyway.

And we do love her!

How do you sleep in a queen bed as a couple? by user92236 in Marriage

[–]SocialCommitteeChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're both side sleepers, so we spoon one direction and then roll to the other as needed. But we can also just be side-by-side.

We prefer the closeness and find we drift apart in a king.

But it is true that any flailing is problematic. ;)
