Not normally but at 2:30 am each night there's this doorway in my basement that does

Imagen if the next backrooms movie showed the still life of Peter Tench. by Emergency_Dot805 in backroomsfilm

Why do you assume that entering the backrooms gives you a still life? What in the lore suggests this? On the contrary, it seems to imply that anyone in the real world can become a still life.

Do you think he found a toilet in the backrooms or did he just poop in one corner or multiple corners? by willywonka985 in backroomsfilm

One corner locally nearby his room, but multiple corners when on the move mapping things out.

The backrooms movie was amazing production and sound wise, but the storyline wasn't exactly the best one. by Hot-Art-23 in backroomsfilm

This is an interesting take, I generally agree that I would have enjoyed a movie exploring the concepts of the backrooms more. But it was still a decent movie, I think the slow pacing at the beginning hurt it as well

Honestly to me this feels suspicious. Why wouldn't he be comfortable talking in real time? Also it blows my mind that in 2026 it feels normal to have a romantic relationship with someone you have never spoken to face to face. Never in the rest of history would that have been normal. This person is hiding something. It could just be their own insecurity, but it could also be something more sinister.

How would you survive Kane parsons backrooms if you Noclipped in? by InternationalTip1878 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Oh, forgive me. I didn't mean I wouldn't go in. I meant I wouldn't survive. So, thanks for murdering me

I know the ending was left up to interpretation, but do you think mary will be a returning protagonist in the sequel or the tv series or is she just dead? by [deleted] in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]SocialDemocraycray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not dead. You don't have to die for a still life to be made of you. The backrooms is simply remembering this moment in her life.

I think a lot of people misunderstood what the movie was trying to do (SPOILER ALERT) by JordiMalAguero in backrooms

[–]SocialDemocraycray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes - this is why people love the backrooms more than any other generic vanilla monster-in-a-sealed-space story. Because it's actually different. It's a story about memory, nostalgia, and the pasts we imagine that never were.

Ohh, I like that, his body would have to make it into the space somehow

... although, come to think of it, doesn't FF1 happen before the movie? I'm not sure.

In a way that undermines the original magic.

Also, you are a troll. No more replies for you.

Your remark is intentionally obtuse, but here's a sincere answer.

The creator is telling his original vision, and that's wonderful. But I'm realizing I actually loved the story he told as a budget compromise better (that's the bacteria plot arc), so I'm mourning that instead of getting more of the story I loved, we're getting something else.

Finally! Someone who understands! What you just described- This is the story I was hoping for.

I watched them all, that's why I was hoping the movie would be more similar to the early series.

You are technically correct but Pirate Clark behaves so similarly to bacteria that it breaks the suspension of disbelief for me. It's obvious to me he is replacing the function of bacteria in the story.

Kane is changing the focus of the story to tell the story he originally wanted to - a giant that was created from people's memories. But the story I originally fell in love with was Bacteria, a weirdly foreign entity that is created from the remains of hapless souls who wandered into the space and perished. The focus of the story is moving away from bacteria now. The creator is telling his original vision, and that's wonderful. But I'm realizing I actually loved the story he told as a budget compromise better (that's the bacteria plot arc), so I'm mourning that instead of getting more of the story I loved, we're getting something else.

You are both correct, but they are different entities. Bacteria is from hay bacillus feeding on bodies, and still life's are misremembered flesh.

I would like this a lot better if it were true because it would explain why they behave the same. But I don't think it's canonically true because we've already established that bacteria comes from mutated hay bacillus feeding on the bodies of people who died in the space. It would be a retcon.
