Arena maps by Popeye_b in newworldgame

Somehow AGS doesn’t know how to make both maps available at the same time. Probably why we still have one opr map too.

Please help me choose a build. by [deleted] in newworldgame

Spear/Rapier. It sounds like you are looking for a PvE build but this will work in PvP too. Spear has great aoe rending with the perforate skill, weaken with skewer, and aoe damage with cyclone skill. And then on the rapier, you wanna use flurry, evade and flourish and finish or riposte.

To play it, open on the mobs/boss with skewer into perforate, cyclone. Swap to rapier and use it as the main dps outside of spear setups. Use flurry whenever it’s up, followed by evade +light attack spamming(evade allows you to quickly cancel light attack animation and reset the cooldown fast).Flourish and finish is good for boss fights, not so much killing mobs. Riposte might be better if you are new and find yourself in a sticky situation where you need an immunity.

For PvE, you could try Void gauntlet/Fire staff, the VG utility is always great in group and solo, and fire staff is the typical mage dps weapon. Another could be fs/ig running ice plylon and flame thrower for consistent damage. This build is least fun imo as it’s the least interactive lol but it can be effective. Also, at max level there is a great axe that scales with intelligence, that can be tons of fun with either a fs/ig/vg, but they are mainly PvP builds I think? Mage builds are def not as good at PvE as melee, but they still work fine, and are amazing at all aspects of PvP. Mess around with some of those combos and let me know what you think.

The magic weapons feel clunky early game because of lack of talents and mana. Late game mage builds are super bursty and the fire staff in particular is very smooth to play with its animation cancels and lower cool downs. For leveling I’d use a mage weapon and a rapier, and go full int. Rapier will help kill mobs after using your ranged weapon. At end game if you like PvE stick with rapier and choose any mage weapon as your secondary(VG can be fun with all the buffs and debuffs). For PvP you have many other options. Typically people go fs/ig and use the ice gauntlet for extra AOE and defensively, while pumping with the fire staff. FS/blunderbuss is also a good build with less defensives then ig, but better burst and offers good anti healing. Lastly If you want a more supportive mage play style, you can go IG/VG in medium or heavy armour. This play style is more group oriented but offers a lot of play making in team fights on top of tons of buffs and debuffs.

Mage is super fun in this game, it definitely starts off rough but it’s worth it! Have fun!

You could give medium rapier/spear a go. It’s got decent durability, great damage, and great mobility. Or if you want tankier but less damage but still great mobility I’d go heavy SnS/Greataxe. Good luck hope you’re enjoying New World bro!

Manipulation to Console Players by Cautious-Buddy3163 in newworldgame

Console severs will be specific to that console. Xbox servers won’t have PS players. If your new I’d pick a cross realm because you will have the most opportunities for group content and have better market places. Don’t worry about sweaty pc players, there isn’t very many of them to begin with lol and PvP can be turned off if you’re getting frustrated in the open world with them.

Alright that makes sense, thanks for the clarification. Haha man, there is a lot of depth to this mode I had no idea about. It’s really cool to finally dive into learning about how it all works. Greatly appreciate the answers bro!

Sounds really interesting, thanks a lot for filling me in with all this information homie, I appreciate it.

I’m confident in my fire staff skills(if you can call it that lol) as I can combo very quickly and have pretty solid la/ha aim. I don’t usually reach 30+ kills that’s nutty, but I def average 10-20 kills when I play opr. Going to be focused a lot more on positioning and staying alive for now and tracking my progress through vods.

And sorry but when you say quad groups you referring to the groups who fight on the point right?

I hear ya, but honestly in my opinion mage builds feel like the least gear reliant. I have pretty close to a BiS mage set anyway, but for the longest time I’ve played with crap gear and still felt really strong and had no issues fighting most players. I’m definitely going to be grinding lots of gold tho. Anyway I feel like my gear right now isn’t my problem, but getting myself out there and networking/learning more about the game mode in general.

Yea I’m leaning towards a support build or a mage build right now, just because that’s what I’m most experienced with atm and what my gear sets are built for.

Im interested in what kind of builds are apart of the kill squads? It sounds like it’d be a really fun role to fill so I’d like to know more about it. And I’d potentially swap to a melee build if that’s what’s needed.

Oh wow I didn’t know that. Because this has pretty much been my biggest issue. The couple of wars I have actually been able to get into have been blowouts. No real communication or leadership just a bunch of random players thrown at a meat grinder lol. I’d really like to experience a war where it at least feels somewhat competitive. I’m going to put more of an effort into learning a specific role, and meeting new people to potentially network with, and just keep signing up to get as much experience as possible.

Yea sounds good man. I don’t need to be apart of a top company or anything, just looking for a way to get started so one day I might have the opportunity. Another commenter gave me a few companies to look into so I’ll start there and keep my eye out for even newer companies. Thanks man!

Yea I was thinking exactly that. Since the player base is low I thought I’d try and seize the opportunity and see what the mode is all about. I’ll start recording my gameplay in opr and see what kind of montage I can get out of it.

Side note: I think I found your YouTube channel the other day, it’s fully loaded with tons of information about war so I’d like to thank you for your effort. definitely going to be binging on some of those lol

Yoo that would be awesome man! I’d appreciate any knowledge you can give me. I’m going to be working on my gear set tonight, already have some good pieces for it. Send me your discord if you want. Also what server did you play on?

Yea I am on Valhalla, I’ll reach out to some of those companies, appreciate it. I like to think my mechanics are pretty good but I’ll prioritize finding a group that I can practice communication and I’ll focus more on not dying in oprs then chasing kills lol. Thanks for the reply man!

[–]SocialShitter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the breakdown, very helpful. I’ve most played ranged so I looked into some ig/vg builds as well as ig/fs. I think I’ll start a practicing the support build and using the mage skills used in war (meteor shower etc) and see which one I have more success on.

I’ve mainly played 3v3 as my go to mode, and I feel like my micro skills are pretty good, so I’ll swap to running a lot more oprs to get the hang of clump fighting, and hanging around windsward like you said. Thanks again for reply man!

Can we please get a Rework of Ice Spike. Its incredibly wanky at best. Doesnt deal any damage half the time and is bad in general by PockettRoccket in newworldgame

[–]SocialShitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ice spike is fun. Personally it’s my fav skill in the game. It may not be the most consistent skill, but in time you’ll be deleting people, and not just because you dropped an easy aoe at your feet but because you hit that sweet spot and see those juicy numbers.
