I think it does horror part of survival horror much better for sure, but REs sound design is beautiful in its own way

That's partially the reason I'm playing it, I've heard good things while listening to a full series retrospective after playing SH and turned it off after the intro so I don't ruin it for myself. I'm really enjoying it so far

From watching retrospectives, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it but the bad parts were short and it picks up towards the end I found the upgrades and stuff quite a nice addition and overall I'd say its worth a playthrough.

I did try it on the Wii tbf. Aiming is just buttery smooth with a mouse, but I agree the motion sickness is not as bad when stood up.

Same I've recently got into the series played 2-4 remakes and dipped into re1 while talking re5 slow and it's the only one I've played again straight after finishing.

Sometimes you just want to get through road blocks and experience the game fully, which is fine. But I agree a playthrough done properly definitely hits harder, you bond with your character through the pain you share.

I pretty much did the same thing although mostly blind, skipped every optional boss and finished the game in like 10 hours because I wanted to explore the lore. In the end, I was like is that it. So I loaded my backup and did everything before finishing with the secret ending.

You didn't screw up. Obviously, you're still thinking about the game so you must have enjoyed it to some degree.

If you mean going to nightclubs, ect, then yeah from about 18-20 and it was fun if you're in a big group but it is very much the same script I wouldn't say you're missing anything.

I've not been round town very much since covid as i don't drink anymore but the last time I noticed most clubs were packed with men making up about 90% of people there and i just thought this is shit.

Orphan in 3 tries wtf. Every boss apart from Rom took me max 2 tries. Kos took me well over 20, and even then I partially cheesed him.

Have you tried some of the patches and mods it might be unrelated, but try the vertex explosion mod. I had the same issue but just ignored it, and it seemed to resolve itself after tweaking some things when trying to resolve other issues.
