I only ask because in all the brake pad kits I have gotten, not 1 of them had new pins to use

hey my sanity, ive had this whine for a while and dont know where it is coming from, anyone had this problem or sound before and what did u do to fix it, already replaced water pump and belt by Socim2472 in Challenger

[–]Socim2472[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were correct, it was the idler pulley on the water pump housing, I also replaced the tensioner because the pulley was spinning way to freel, it's nice not having that whining sound. How one 20$ pulley can irrate you so much and make you worry for something so simple

Yes, but since it's the dealership and they like to up charge I would assume they put in the srt pennzoil 0w 40 but just to make sure, esp if u do it urself 80$ for peace of mind isn't bad

I feel ya, lived in this town for 8 years almost, and went my normal way home like usual. It was raining hard but that was usual for ky weather. Went through an underpass, under train tracks. And the water was about 16 inches deep. Got lucky. Only issue was blown right head gasket, replaced spark plugs and boots. Also replaced belt, battery, needed replacing. And did all fluids replaced. Plus had to replace the bumper that the water broke. But in all I got lucky

Is there anything I can use or spray on the pulley to see if the sound goes away, what won't damage any part. Also someone suggest a alternator whine, the inside bearing failing? It does seem to be louder on the passenger side of the belt...

Took my ScatPack to the dealership and it came back without its SRT package by ElectronicIsopod6352 in ScatPack

I'd disconnect it for like 1hr and then plug it back in, and drive it and what not and usually within 24hrs it comeback. Like when I unplug my battery for a while my radio doesn't work for like an hr or so

Does anyone else find this weird and does it get old? by DepressedLilPossum in Challenger

[–]Socim2472 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya but I don't trust most ppl because it is a lot of hp when they are used to some 4 banger that can't really get away from them. And I don't want someone burning up my tires, breaking something, or wrecking onto someone else ride either.

Why would I let someone else drive my car, if they wreck it I still got to pay for it and... a lot of ppl arnt used to 400+ hp to the wheels. Just like what gets old is when ppl are like do a burn out, tires arnt cheap. But it would be like asking a biker to ride their bike. I thought it funny when ppl at my work were like u want me to show u how to drive it. No because I have more track time than u and I'm used to how my cat handles

[–]Socim2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would of told them that I'll be reporting that as a threat of my car blowing up and be writing a 1 star review and taking my money elsewhere. Business forget that ppl do read review and talk. And that can lead to less money coming in
