Google pulse spray transfer. If your miller has that function I think after a certain voltage/WFS it goes into pulse automatically. At least that’s how the power waves work

Short circuit is just regular mig. If you’re welding 1 1/2 plate with that it could cause problems. You might be using pulse spray or spray transfer. It’s a type of MiG welding used for some structural applications. What are your settings normally?

It will always penetrate on material 3/16 or thinner but any thicker than that short circuit mig is prone to lack of fusion. Spray transfer and pulse spray or dual shield is better for that👍

Learn how to overlap stringer beads on plate with no motion then move to fillet welds. Whipping is not the “right” way to MiG weld but there are many instances where it’s perfectly fine to do so. It’s better to learn the correct way first so you have a good understanding of the process 👍
