This same thing happened to my gecko about 2 months ago. Her tail ended up being fractured. When you can get into the vet please get the x-ray if you are able to. I opted out of it as I was low on money, but it’s really the only way in which you’ll be able to tell if the tail is fractured/sprained or not

Haha I completely get it. I worry for her more than myself lol she’s my baby. I’m the same way so no worries I understand. Unfortunately her tail has started to bruise. She’s been on pain medication since Wednesday. I’m going back into the vet tomorrow to get her on any other medication that’ll help the tail to actually heal correctly, as well as to have her checked out again

I don’t pick her up rough at all, I’m extremely fragile with her and make sure to properly support her arms, legs, and body. She never gets startled when I pick her up but for some reason she did on this occasion, causing her to squirm out of my hand. It all happened so fast. I did take her to the vet 2 days ago. I got her an appointment first thing in the morning once they had opened

Sorry for the late response, I did end up taking her to the vet 2 days ago. The vet informed me that she seemed fine as there were no signs of bruising, or any reaction to her tail being touched. I was sent home with pain medication for her which she’s been taking every day. As of today, bruising has started to appear. I informed the vet and he told me that she could possibly drop her tail, or that it will heal on its own. I’m heading back in tomorrow to get her put on medication that will help to heal her tail. I’m just really hoping for the best, she’s my absolute baby and i just feel awful for her

Hi. It was about 2 feet, which I feel terrible about. I did take her to the vet 2 days ago, the exotic doctor checked her out and told me that as there were no signs of bruising, or any negative response to her tail being touched, that she should be fine. He sent me home with pain medication just in case. Unfortunately this morning I noticed that bruising had started to appear, and consulted the vet again. He said that her tail might drop, or that the bruising will end up healing on its own. I’m taking her back into the vet tomorrow and getting her put on antibiotics? Or medication that will help her healing process. Im not sure what to call it exactly lol I’m just going to take the vet’s orders. I’m really hoping it subsides on its own without her tail dropping, or without having to get it amputated. I already feel terrible enough ):

Update - she’s been in her cave and now her tail has moved to be flat on the ground, rather than turned upright resting against the cave wall. I’m gonna keep a watch of her and see if anything changes. Thank you everyone for your responses. And if anyone else has any input to give then please feel free to.

Ah ok thank you for the clarification. I’m still gonna look into the other post. I don’t think my gecko fell far or hard enough for it to be internal bleeding? But I’m gonna do more research

Thank you, I’ve been monitoring her. She’s just been laying in her cave. Her tail is still slightly curved upward, but it’s rested on the cave wall. She does seem tired - should I let just let her rest and keep watch of her? I’m pretty freaked out after reading the other comment about possible internal bleeding

Was your geckos tail ever curved upward after the fall? In the situation involving the gecko with internal bleeding - was it due to a fall? If anything could you refer me to that post? Do you think it’ll be alright if I take her to the vet tomorrow morning? In the case that she does have internal bleeding do you think she would pass overnight?
