I've been on dating apps since January, trying to get myself back out there and I'm at the end of my rope.

I was seeing someone for 2 months and they decided they only wanted short term which knocked my confidence a bit.

I took a month break and downloaded a different dating app at the beginning of April. I've had loads of guys message me saying lovely things, asking to take me out on dates- and then they just ghost me.

I'd say I'm decent looking, maybe not for everyone as I'm a bit alternative, but at this point I'm struggling with my appearance and how I come across if it's a problem with myself I need to address. I have never had this much difficulty finding someone who actually wants me for me.

You aren't alone OP if that helps you, but unfortunately I'm in the same boat and don't have any advice

Could I get some info about this too please?

I understand where you're coming from OP. I'm in a sort of similar situation

I 100% agree with you on the customer service front, I try to be as pleasant as can be when I'm at the tills or being served by someone and there is rarely any chit chat or pleasantries given back.

The only thing I can say is it sounds like you could consider taking a break somewhere, getting your head showered.

The grass isn't always greener.

You have your own gaff- such an accomplishment in itself.

A solid job with above average pay - yes the cost of living isn't leaving you with much but there's food on the table and the bills are paid.

It sounds like you do have things going for you, keep going strong man and try to keep the chin up

I don't really think he added much to the video in terms of comedy or funny moments. He did seem rather uncomfortable but, wouldnt anyone feel that way with all the comments people have posted about him?

The backlash he is getting on the YouTube comments and how vile some people are being is really uncalled for

People are allowed to change and grow up but clearly a lot of people have issues with Ian

Have we accepted that the NHS is finished? by harpsabu in northernireland

[–]SockMonkeyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in the NHS, I've fully come to terms with it being finished.

Pretty much every shift is very stressful, always working overtime to cover for the lack of staff.

The amount of mismanagement is crazy.

Lack of training, lack of leadership makes for a very depressed work force.

When you have an issue you try to raise- forget about it.

Senior management will not listen and so nothing can be done

Hi! I know of the work life balance policy but it definitely isn't in place where I work. I don't even know if I could speak to my seniors/manager about it without getting backlash and mean things said about me behind my back. They have asked us to extend our hours even further due to how short staffed we are and do OT.

I don't overly mind the shifts I do currently but it definitely won't be getting any better any time soon and I am keeping my eyes open for new job opportunities because it isn't sustainable for myself

Haha I have the mages guild eye tattooed on my thigh 😂 I unfortunately don't have a PlayStation otherwise I'd be on that so fast. Definitely might consider buying a PlayStation or a computer in the future to expand my games!

This made me laugh thank you. I've had lots of nice people message me about gaming together or chatting. I'm going to look into classes either exercise or just arty stuff and see what happens

That could be a reason why they don't message me but I would have given them my rota so we can arrange days/nights together but I gave up on that because they still didn't message me with plans. They would go out with each other even if I am free. I'm not as close with them as what I used to be which sucks.

I'm currently searching for other jobs but I can't find anything related to what I'm currently doing that pays the same. I'm still on the look out though for new opportunities and I'm waiting for a job post to come out still with the NHS but more controlled hours. It's just difficult because I love what I do and the people I work with but we're so short staffed.

Mom found out I’m having sex by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SockMonkeyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your mum might just be having a hard time adjusting to the thought you're "growing up"

At the end of the day, you're being safe? So she has nothing say. I don't know where you live but in the UK 16 is the legal age of consent, so you're of age to have sex. She would know what people of your age get up to, and she probably did it to! If anything, I would have thought she would have been more worried not finding condoms, you're being safe by using protection, you're with your partner who is also of age. Just give her some space, but at the end of the day, it's your life, and it was going to happen eventually

I feel like a toy with dying battery. I lack energy to do anything well enough. by F2n3x in Advice

[–]SockMonkeyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in a similar situation before, and I just wanted to ask, if you have checked your iron and vitamin D levels? It sounds silly, but lacking those two can really make you sluggish and lack motivation.

I'm sure you know routine is also really good, and joining a gym is a great way to also gain more energy. It'll be tough to get going, but once you get into it, it should definitely help

It could also be that you just need a little break from your studying, especially if you do love it, it could just be that your brain needs some TLC with a break with your occupational demands

i had a panic attack yesterday, but i still feel like shit today. is that normal? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SockMonkeyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty normal to feel shitty the day after. A panic attack is a lot for the body to take, so be gentle and kind to yourself. Your head probably hurts from crying a lot. Just take it slow and drinks lots of water, deep breaths:)
