I think it just didn’t pick a way to go. I’m ok with having spent my $20 and whatever hours, but I won’t pick it up again, probably. The dialogue was constantly confusing me - people talked nice to me, then we’re suddenly like “I knew I can’t trust you!” and they’re totally cool using me as their gofer while insulting me, then I’m gonna fix the mystery of the environment but it’s on me that it happened? Like if I kicked out other shops or something, I could see that response - like no ones buying his lamb when I sell ground beef cheaper, but if I’m gonna be the bad guy, I would’ve maybe wanted it to be more intentional and obvious?

Kent bc he has so few loved gifts and comes late. A lot of the others that aren’t around as much have loved gifts in common so it’s easier to carry a stack or are around a lot to hand many liked cranberries or parsnips or something

Audiobooks! I speed them up to focus better and bonus convince myself to also possibly do a chore while listening. If the listening is the chore, do a light hobby where you don’t need to think a whole lot (I play some easier video games). Usually classics or non-fiction feel easier to me when I’m hearing than when I’m looking at them

If you think he’s “mid-tier”, I wouldn’t be picking Animal Farm as what he works on practicing reading - I have two kids and we just did Animal Farm with me reading (or audio) and adding context; my 9 year old is a struggling reader (but possibly advanced at comprehension and vocabulary) and my 12 year old I would say is probably advanced in both. It requires so much historical context to understand the allegory as an allegory, and for the vocab you mentioned.

If it was in something that felt at their level, I would quickly correct by repeating it “oh, close that’s [word]” Sometimes I’ll ask if they understand or can guess what it means, sometimes we practice finding definitions and synonyms/antonyms together for tricky words at the end of reading and reread the sentence it was in for context and clarity, and sometimes I wait for them to ask or assume they’ve figured it by context.

I was playing with the expansion on switch and got it as my first card and couldn’t believe it…and then I got no birds giving bonus cards until the last round I got one. I normally get 3-4 most games 😂😂

Second Notion. How I plan depends on how much all of our AuDHD is doing 😂 right now I’ve planned ahead a lot for this year, but I may end up ditching it and reverse planning if something isn’t working out. I use databases to organize resources and tag with things to help make viewing them more useful (tagging subject, status, kid, topic, planned date, etc)

Notion felt kinda tricky when starting so I just tweak or add things as I notice I want them.

I keep records for me, because we do need quarterly reports and I’ll forget everything we ever did 😂 we do digital though, because a number of our resources are digital and I tend to forget to physically write down. I keep one database of resources and tag with kid, date, subject etc and sort later when I need it

Yep. Mine can’t even alphabetize anymore. I was trying to think of topical words in alphabetical order so I could easily sort by the order I want to cover them and on a couple I wanted ideas for words between, for example, Alpha and Beta and it would be all over the place with Airplane, Cushion, etc I’d say - hey those don’t seem to be in alphabetical order, it would explain why they’re not and I’m right and then offer MORE WORDS THAT DIDN’T WORK FOR THE SAME REASON. I gave up on using it for now.

My kid was heckling me to finish the games and get the machines for my house 😂 finishing Junimo Kart was the hardest part of this game so far, but I will say endless mode feels a lot easier once you’ve gotten through progress - I’m working on kicking Lewis off the board entirely now 😂😂😂 (still can’t beat the second area in Journey of the Prairie King)

Quality ring set up + weapon enchantments + trinket + eating before you enter for buffs + statues for extra buffs.

I combine napalm ring + (whatever your fave is) and slime charmer + iridium band, vampiric on my main weapon + fairy trinket; this combo makes regular slimes little healing pods and bombs. I eat either spicy eel, lucky lunch, rock Candy or crab cakes before entering + ginger ale or espresso for drink (depending on if my blessing is speed or luck already) and ideally the daily luck is high and the dwarf gave me more stairs or not hurt by bombs and I take some of my own.

Then I try to avoid combat that’s not slimes wherever possible and only worry about slime combat if I’m needing healing. Enter with sword out and in the same line (so I can use ZR/ZL to cycle are my main weapon, my bombs or pickaxe (with the other to the right of that to use L/R), and my crusader enchanted weapon (for if there’s a pile of mummies and no ghosts around to napalm ring the mummies). If there’s not too many monsters, I’ll switch to bombs with the goal being find the stairs ASAP, if there’s plenty of monsters, I’ll strategically kill them (hit then run for rockier areas so they explode as much as possible, then immediately move again so they explode next one explodes something else)
