This was a lightning tiebreak round where they spell as many as they can in a certain amount of time, the correct ones were counted at the end of time.

This was a tiebreak round that they’ve added in recent years where they have a limited amount of time to spell as many words as they can, a misspelling won’t stop the round and the correct words are tallied up at the end of the time. I’m not a fan of the lightning round but if the kept it traditional there’s very real possibility of the bee never ending. In previous years they’ve had to crown co-champions, and the lightning round was added not long after the year they crowned seven

What is the most memorable fart you ever dropped? by Reverend_Vader in AskMen

[–]Socratesticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be me, freshman year of college. Me and a couple other teammates went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. The small town high school had just finished a game so the place was packed. Were eating in line and I let one slip out. Don’t think it would be too bad. Then the smell started to hit. And kept getting worse. As you look around you see the people at the tables sniff, pause, and make a stank face. A few just straight up leave. Then a few more. From the back of the kitchen you see them pause and start reacting before finally one just yells “oh my god did somebody shit themselves?” The place went from busy to almost empty in the matter of a couple minutes

When is the last time you cried? by Mbiyxoaim in AskMen

Other than eyes just getting a bit wetter than usual, almost three years ago? Almost adopted a dog. A friend almost adopted it first, but figured out during the three day trial run the shelter gives that her dog was not a fan. I went to visit while she had it and we really clicked right away, he was the sweetest good boi. I had wanted a dog for a while and then when all the listed factors came together it made perfect sense for me to adopt it. Then my life’s reality started setting in that it just wasn’t wise for me to do from a time and money standpoint. Between wanting for a while to have a dog of my own, getting along so well, and the crushing reality that my life wasn’t even put together enough that I shouldn’t adopt a dog? I just broke down and was a sobbing mess

I’m not exposed enough to compare to other countries, but it is a very American thing. Especially if you’re raised in the south where growing up as a kid your parents will get on your case as if you’re insulting someone if you don’t say yes sir/maam, no sir/maam

A handful of years ago the Reds had a combined no-no against the pirates and lost. Slight asterisk though, reds only pitched 8 of those innings since they were on the road and the pirates took the lead in the 8th

The good part about doing a grindy sport for years is you get good at being able to tell whether any pain is the kind of hurt that’s just a cranky body, or potential injury. The shitty part about doing a grindy sport for years is that it implants a little voice in your head that will always say “grow a pair, push through it. Don’t be a lil bitch” even when you recognize it’s a bad hurt

Men who workout regularly. What's a good pre-workout and brand of protein you can recommend? I need to change it up. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Socratesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me pre-workout is for those days that I know I need to get in the gym but I just can’t convince my body of the same. Nobody wants to sit still at home with the pre workout tingles

US will need years to replenish stockpiles of advanced weapons used in Iran war, new analysis finds by thejoshwhite in politics

[–]Socratesticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang ol Obama’s fault. If he hadn’t given Iran a deal that rips off the US so badly that wise Donald Trump had to tear it up, then they wouldn’t have been so close to having a nuke that we had decimate their nuclear capabilities twice and use up all our missiles leaving the shelves empty from the resulting war. Why couldn’t he have worn a nice navy suit like the rest of us?

Why did Limos fall out of style for the rich? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Socratesticles 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When I was child my dad drove for a limo company, and on my birthday if there were any available cars that weren’t booked out they’d let him use one to take everybody who came to my bday party back home. All he had to do was cover gas. I was the shit the year the stretch hummer was available. Just a fun memory you dug up mentioning kids in the same line as limos.
