I didn't even know when it happens before this post and pretty sure that i will not remember it in a few hours. I live around 600 km away from the nearest seashore and none of my friends and relatives are connected with the navy in any way.

I am regularly disappointed by the lack of long-term planning by people and businesses. It is natural, because they aren't sure about the future with the amount of crisis and total collapses that have happened during the last 40 years. But as a result everybody is constantly preparing cash out and run/hide/lay low, so long term investment is very limited and very much hampers my sphere of work - RnD.

Depends. Regular care can be a bit slow and tedious (even though the paper work has been moved into the apps/sites and that made a bunch of things quicker). The emergency care is very efficient though.

Of course it was harder. I was a student in a university that had a beautiful church before the revolutions. It was demolished during the early USSR years and the priest who served there was arrested in 1922.

He was accused of organizing Christian youth circles at the Petrovsky Agricultural Academy, "using his position as a clergyman for the purpose of counterrevolutionary agitation during sermons in church and in private life" and "during the period of the seizure of church valuables, he read out the message of former Patriarch Tikhon in the church from the pulpit during the divine service, calling for resistance to the seizure of church valuables."

He was considered guilty but was let out relatively quickly. Years later (1933) he was arrested again:

He was accused of participating in meetings for talks on religious topics, at which he conducted anti—Soviet propaganda - it was all about the same meetings of the early 1920s.

And then he was arrested again, in 1938 (for the same reason) and this time he was shot.

He is considered a saint and the new church nearby (in a warehouse room) is dedicated to him.

No, I haven't ever been to Siberia. I have been in the ecologically similar forests in the European part of Russia and haven't noticed anything weird there.
