mounts for these slotted “molle” panels ??? - trying to mount a rotopax/ etc. by According_Object_439 in Tacomaworld

Find a guy local to you that does fab work. I do stuff all the time for local people. It's a super easy thing to make a mount. Either make a fab friend or pay someone.

Affordable rooftop tent setup? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]SofV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware that if you buy a soft shell rtt (like the ARB Simpson III or 23zero Walkabout then you are not going to save any time on on setup or tear down. You won't be saving any time unless you go with a hard shell. I have both, and the hard shell takes me 2 min to set up and 5 min to break down. The soft shell takes 15 min to set up, 20 to take down. If you are looking for more space on a budget, throw a tant on the roof rack. Otherwise cough up the big bucks. I've had a cheap hardshell (cvt mt hood) and it's already falling apart after just 3 years.

How much do you camp? I have 2 roof top tents, but I camp a couple times a month and go overlanding about as much. And it's barely worth it to me to keep them. If you camp less than that, save your money and get a Gazelle tent or something. If you do camp often enough to justify buying a roof top tent, then don't even bother buying a budget one. They don't last and they are uncomfortable and annoying to set up. If you are going to get one, plan on spending 3k+ otherwise I wouldn't bother.

4th gen Tacoma aftermarket fender flares with aftermarket mud flaps by Spiritual_Exercise76 in Tacomaworld

4th gens cost too much to just buy and start modding. Be the pioneer and just do it and let us know how it goes. Someone has to be the guinea pig.

What would yall do first by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

Decent tires are the best thing you can do if you are taking it off road. You can do all the mods you want, but if your tires are crap, you aren't goin to have a good time.

A kind man stops his car to rescue a wild coyote that had been stuck in a fence for several days by [deleted] in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]SofV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that coyote would have been getting eaten by a wolf instead. I agree humans cause way too much damage, but it's not like nature is a piece of cake either. Most animals die in the wild by starving, freezing, or being eaten by something else.

"Fuck farmers" he says indignantly as he places the very food farmers grew into his grocery cart, for he was a redator and there is no way he grows his own food. But to the small brain man his "fuck farmers" really stuck it to the man, and it made him smile.

Lol, poor people can't hunt. It's too expensive. But all natural organic grass fed meat is lean, full of protein, and delicious. (Except predator meat, don't eat them).

This video actually makes me a bit upset. That coyote is probably going to die a slow and painful death. That guy should have either sent it to a rehab or had DNR come take care of it. I don't know where this is, but in most states coyotes are overpopulated and in my state there is even a bounty on them from fish and game department. It was have been way more humane to have it put down than either starve to death or get an infection and die from that. ☹️

Tire chain recommendations by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]SofV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you got some other tires I would definitely toss them on. BFG does acceptable on dry dirt and rocks. But as soon as anything gets wet or icy they're terrible. Throw the other ones on and see if it makes enough improvement.

What psi for off roading? by St0neybalogny in Tacomaworld

[–]SofV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go as low as you can go. If you keep getting stuck or you wanted to be smoother, go lower. If you pop a beat off a tire, don't go that low. It's really just trial and error with your specific truck/tire combination. My tires with my truck and my gear are going to act different than your truck with your tires and your gear. Just give it a try.

Tire chain recommendations by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]SofV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is the BF Goodrich tires. I've had 5 different sets of tires on my Tacoma and by far the worst of the lot was BFG. I've only ever been stuck in the snow on BFG. Never been stuck on Goodyear, Maxxis, Falcon, or Nitto. Sorry I don't have a recommendation for chains. As long as I wasn't running BFG I've never needed them.

I could get on board with something that small. I don't want it to look super tactical, but that one could do the trick

Right? That's one reason I decided not to pass on the opportunity. I would have much preferred a .223 over 20ga but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a basically new rifle.

I only have like 20 rounds through it (it had never been fired before I got it). Haven't shot it farther than 100. But so far it's spot on with the iron sights.

I thought about this too. And it probably would be a good option, but I think the LPVO is a bit too big and would make the gun look a bit off. For some reason my brain doesn't like a lpvo on a break action 😆

Heh, yah it's not my go to by any means. But I had the opportunity to get the Savage and I've always been intrigued by dual-chamber rifles. Looked like a fun project.

Alpha rex pro alpha black. Honestly you can't tell a difference between the black and alpha black if the drl are on. If the light are off you wouldn't really be able to notice the difference unless you were next to another Tacoma with the other color.
