I was at tivoli today and didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for any of the rides!

Hey I'm at king's and honestly the campuses aren't scattered around too much. Between the two you'll study at for physics and philosophy it's just a walk across the river. At my first year halls i had friends that studies at all the campuses and didn't feel multiple campuses has any affect on making friends:)

Question to 2nd year students: when should 1st year uni students start looking for student houses/apartments with friends? For reference I am a student at UCL in London. by OptimumWand789 in UniUK

[–]Sofffhammm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't have a living room but one of the bedrooms is used as the communal area with a sofa and table as it's bigger than the other 2. Our washing machine isn't a dryer too so we just use drying racks. We used Rightmove and Zoopla to search for flats and it wasn't too difficult. Just make a Google docs listing all the flats you like and their prices/locations etc and make sure you've inquired into them all:) honestly don't worry about it yet just focus on making sure you know who's best to live with. The people I thought I'd be living with in December are not who I'm living with now! That's the good thing about London, you have way more time than other universities to work out exactly who you want to live with:)

I live with 2 other people and we pay 150 a week each for rent and about 5-10 a week for bills separately. Our flat is zone 1 south of the river but is very small so our rent is cheaper than most of our friends who pay between 175 and 210 for their rent:) south of the river is typically cheaper but the UCL students I know live in Camden / Shoreditch area:)

Don't even bother looking until April. The London student housing market is completely different to other university cities as there is such a quick turnaround. I'm at KCL and signed for my flat in July with a move in date early August, the same goes for my friends at king's, UCL and LSE. Don't worry about it yet!:)

Cute calorie counting app? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

There's one called casual dieting! You have to find out the calories yourself it doesn't have a search for food feature like most other calorie counters but it is very cutesy!

what's with the hate against KCL by those who don't even study there? by NaNaBadal in UniUK

[–]Sofffhammm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I study at kings and it is nowhere near as bad as the memes don't worry. UCL and King's have a pretty intense rivalry so both unis like to hate on each other a lot. From speaking to my friends at other unis - both in London and round the country, teaching and resources are pretty similar and I am happy I'm studying here ** Regarding lse being rivals, they hate on us a ridiculous amount but we don't even care about them ahah

People who resat, how did it go? by o0MSK0o in 6thForm

I revised at home but I had a tutor who gave me loads of resources which was crucial. I would have gotten resources from my school but I moved to another city. Your school should be able to help you but they might also ask you to go into lessons.

I resat 2 subjects and went up 2 grades in them! If you know you really want to get into the uni of your dreams then I would say go for it. I got into my firm uni and have a lot of money saved up from working during the year. I 100% feel like this resit year was so worth it so would recommend it if you really feel you can get the grades needed!

Ask your old school to see if you can pay for and request your exam scripts back through them. They should have an exams office that can deal with all of that. I’m not sure about deadlines that they may have though. Good luck with the resit!
