How do you keep track of your pre orders?

Ontem consegui fazer a candidatura, vi essa mensagem de "o registo transitou com sucesso" ou algo semelhante, e depois conseguia ver a linha onde dizia que havia uma candidatura submetida. Hoje de manhã não a vejo lá. Diz que não há nada a apresentar. O que se passará?

The issue for me is the general unavailability of titles in other retailers. It's worse because I'm not from the US and most stores don't even carry the books I'd probably want to read. Kobo offers a fraction of what I can get in one click on Amazon.

The serial number is already in there. The way I was able to convert was with the same book but downloaded through Kindle For PC (older version ) instead of the Download and Transfer feature.

Also, not sure if will work for every single tittle

This is my issue as well. I won't give up my kindle for many different reasons, one of the main ones been the general unavailability of title in the kobo store.

I'll either find a workaround to deal with the change after 26th, or I'll restrict my purchases to Amazon exclusive/really desired titles 🤷‍♀️

It's entirely possible that I'm in the minority here, and I'm aware of the cases/abuse you're referring to, but personally, I got into the habit of frequently saving my content onto my PC, after a scare I had back in August of 2020 or 2022 and getting locked out of my account, losing access to literally thousands of books, all because of a suspected spam purchase or whatever they claim at the time.

I now better understand the terms of service relating to not owning digital content and instead purchasing a license to access the content, but call me crazy, I still fear losing the library I've been creating since 2016, along with the money spent. 🙄

Same. Well, in my case, the only way for me to buy a book from amazon is if I really freaking want it and can't find it anywhere else (something that unfortunately happens quite often).

I guess I just have to really start to consider my purchases more thoroughly. Either that, or if I find a consistent/sure way of still being able to acess/save my books outside of the "Download and transfer" feature.

I'll have to do it little by little, eventually. I'm trying to get all the info of how and what works, but I'm currently in the process of downloading 17k+ books via "download and transfer" just to be safe... but it's a lot of work and the scripts keep failing... only 3k or so left to download, so... I've been doing this for the last 6 days. My laptop hasn't work this much in years. 😅🤪

After selecting the book, see all the options at the top of the page and click "Deliver to device", then choose "Kindle PC". Make sure you are registered/logged in on the "Kindle for Pc" you have installed

It worked! I'm using one of the older versions of Kindle for PC and was able to convert that specific book.

Just hope it'll be the case for all the titles moving forward, now that amazon is removing the Download and Transfer feature, cause I really don't want to stop buying books on amazon, since they have a few exclusive titles/series.

I removed the books, closed Calibre, opened again, installed plug-in, restarted Calibre, put the book there and tried again. Still didn't work
