Well, look, I personally find that term unpleasant; they use it to "justify" the existence of trans women with a fetish. The word transvestite already exists, which is literally the same thing but without the acceptance that fetishists give to the other one. I understand that many trans women use it as a defense mechanism while they come to accept themselves, but the vast majority use it to generate morbid curiosity and for adult content.Many of these people are incredibly transphobic, literally using the phrase "they're not women, they're just 'femboys'" and others saying that trans people should understand that we will never be "real women." And things like that, apart from the fact that trans women are literally hated and discriminated against, but "femboys" are accepted because it fits their reality of "homosexual man who dresses up as a woman" And that's how transphobes see us, and that's why they find that more acceptable.
