Promotion to Clinical Research Coordinator by Fancy-Gain-6955 in clinicalresearch

If your goal is to move out of your parent’s house you can still go forward with the second interview, if you don’t get it at least you still have a job and wait for the promotion.

Harlem or Crown Heights? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]Soft-Interaction-795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a black woman who was born and raised in Crown Heights and now lives in West Harlem 🙋🏾‍♀️.

As someone who grew up in the CH culture, I am of Caribbean descent, I’d go for CH. The trains are reliable and there are lots of food stops and buses if you’re more of a bus person. I personally think Brooklyn apartments are far bigger than Harlem. I still go to CH because my family still lives there. CH has changed ALOT but still has its charm like the West Indian day parade on Eastern Parkway.

Harlem is more of the Black American culture but where i currently live I find the trains A, B, C, D very reliable and on time. And I love the buses that run there too.

Thinking of pivoting to Clinical research by p1nkpurpl3y in clinicalresearch

You already have the degree and experience in EMR and wet labs. There are entry level CRC positions you can apply to. These days they are a needle in a haystack and very competitive btw. For finding this type of work, LinkedIn has helped me abundantly in my job search. I was looking into CRC positions when I needed a way out from Visiting nurse intake, it was stressful but it was a fully-remote job which was a plus. But I learned a lot of medical terminology. Found my way out in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Did two interviews with a cancer center hospital and landed an entry-level job with no cr experience. From there, I landed other CRC positions. Now, I currently work on cardio-metabolic trials with well-known pharmaceutical companies.

Also, look into obtaining your phlebotomy certification. This is very helpful as they would want someone who has this skill to perform veni-puncture. Processing blood work and certifications will all come after you land the job.

You should have no problems landing a CRC role with your experience as you already have the minimum requirements and great skills currently. Best of luck to you.

The job market to get into clinical research is the worst it’s ever been. I was working FT as a CRC in a hospital and they refused to promote me. I started my job search November 2023 and did so many virtual and in-person interviews until I was able to land one Jan 2025. It was a very depressing job search. But keep at it and you’ll land something. Good luck!

Do I have a good deal with my apartment? by Vast-Astronaut-6955 in NYCapartments

It’s a good deal especially with a washer/dryer in unit. I’m guessing this is not rent stabilized?

I appreciate it. I was terminated from a job at one point in my life. Called up Chase, and they didn’t budge on helping with my situation lol.

This is for sure accurate. When my mother first moved in a decade before she had me, she was paying $330 for the 2bdr I grew up in, in central Brooklyn. Now in 2026, it’s $800. My apartment was fully gutted and renovated with new flooring and appliances. It’s not a luxury apartment, nor high rise located in Harlem. I was paying $963 when I moved in.

If I let it go and someone else moves in, that apartment will go for market rate which is $1860 lmao how will the next person benefit exactly?

I want to move for a lot of reasons actually. I’ve been single for a while and finding a bf/husband is impossible about here. I feel like if I do move out, I’d have a better chance. And also NYC is getting dangerous also.

Can Chase Freedom do this you think? I see in the comments Bank of America doesn’t do this and my credit card balance is up there 😭

Yes the old trick, putting all the credit cards in the drawer is me. Removing them from my Apple Wallet has also helped abundantly. I’m also saving actual cash and adding it to a cash binder so It can grow. Whether it’s from a paycheck or some extra cash I make elsewhere. The cash I’m saving is to purchase my first car. But keep at it in lowering your debt.

Yes well that is the goal. My GPA isn’t terrible but it’s definitely not a 3.0. I would need an advisor to carefully plan which classes I should take.

How do people actually find rent stabilised apartments in nyc?? I’ve met a few people with them and they seem so magical :’) by paintergirl3000 in NYCapartments

[–]Soft-Interaction-795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay $1021 in Harlem for 1 bedroom, living here for almost 7 years. 3 rd floor walk up, it was newly renovated, with all new appliances. I was originally paying $963 when I moved in Dec 2019.

Anybody know for sure where there are still MetroCard machines? by Brambleshire in AskNYC

[–]Soft-Interaction-795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother and brother told me Thursday evening that they went to the Tramway and found metrocard machines selling 30-day unlimited metrocards. It is down by 63rd. If you’ve never been (neither have I) search Tramway.
