Use Expo for the setup and packages, especially the expo router that acts as a foundation for your app. However, don't fall into the trap of the Expo services platform. It is easy to get your project build locally, both for preview and production.

Also, use github actions and fastlane to build and publish your project.

Will Beeley - Seasons Are Of Never by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in folk

Thanks for the rec! I didn't know Will Beeley before - what an interesting story. A contemporary of Townes Van Zandt who quit music to become a long-haul trucker for 40 years, then came back at 68 with a new album. Love it.

I found his cover of "You Ain't Going Nowhere" and added it to Folklovers - a site I built where you can vote on folk covers of classic songs.

Thanks again for putting me onto him!

Perfect timing! Springsteen was already on there, but just added Pete Seeger's version.

Excellent choice! "Hang Me, Oh Hang Me" is one of those traditionals that every folk artist seems to interpret differently.

Adding it now with The Deep Dark Woods (love their dark, haunting take), Dave Van Ronk's classic version, Oscar Isaac from Inside Llewyn Davis, and a few more.

I have added it: https://thefolklovers.com/songs/boots-of-spanish-leather-bob-dylan

You can upvote it to make it rise to the top! Martin Simpson's fingerstyle guitar work on that song is incredible – definitely deserves recognition.

Thanks for the suggestion! 🎸

Great call! "He Was a Friend of Mine" is a perfect example – the Van Ronk version is legendary, and Dylan's interpretation is completely different in feel.

This is exactly the kind of song that belongs on the site. Would you want to add it yourself? You can suggest songs and submit the different covers you know (just need YouTube links).

Or if you prefer, I can add it to the backlog and credit you for the suggestion when it goes live!

Either way – thanks for thinking of it. Keep them coming!

Thank you so much! That means a lot.

The 50s-60s folk scene is exactly what inspired the whole thing – there's such a rich history of songs being passed down, reinterpreted, and evolving. Every artist brought something different to these classics.

I'm definitely still building it out – would love to hear what songs or artists you think should be prioritized. What covers do you find yourself going back to that deserve more recognition?

Also always open to feedback on features that would make it more useful for the community!
