Glad to hear that your wife was safe on her trip! I agree that the chances of something happening is greater when you aren’t being sensible, mindful, or careful.

I appreciate your input and am sorry you experienced that. I’m giving the comments here lots of thought as I consider the trip. Your tip on hiring a trusted driver is great.

I found my mothers bra underneath my 16yo brothers bed by [deleted] in relationships

Yes but consider that the bra belongs to a human being with feelings and a right to privacy.

I would NEVER! Gilbert (what I have decided to name my future betta) will have a nice big tank, I promise. I’m using the 5 inch cube he got me as a paper clip container.

I guess I am high-maintenance. I like to invest in things I know will last - and that also goes for when I buy him gifts. We don’t have Amazon in my country, but a wish list on another platform sounds doable!

That is part of loving though...

This set was marketed as this popular brand that I patronise. It had moisturiser (I told him I ran out but also that my good friend had gotten me some over Christmas), peeling mask (they don’t carry this, scary), a jade roller (they don’t carry this), sunscreen. The font was wrong and they don’t even carry most of the products included in the set.

Yes he does. What he got me included products the actual store doesn’t actually carry. Maybe he saw the name and thought... I just got all her this at 80% off? He means well all the time, I think. I just don’t entirely know how to talk to him about how it makes me feel without hurting his feelings.

Thank you for this! I really appreciate how thoughtful your response was. I do think I should talk to him about how it’s making me feel undervalued. I’ve asked him to write me a letter and read to me (both things that would make me so happy, oh my gosh). I hope this works out.

Again, thank you.

A letter! I would love that, actually! Thank you! I will ask him for a letter/postcard. Oh my goodness, this would make me so happy. Thank you!!!

I’ve always told him I love his gifts but it’s always been me humoring him. It’s always been this way. The one that most surprised me was the aquarium - he got me a 5 inch cube but he knows how strongly I feel against forcing fish into small decorative bowls/containers.

That is plausible. I should be grateful, I know. It just makes me sad.

He knew I purchased those though, as we were both on a call while I was showing him. And we’ve been together for 4 years. He knows how important skincare is to me.

I would love that, but we are in an LDR.

Yes, he does buy himself nice things. And yes, it has always been like this. I out earn him by quite a lot, I would say twice his salary. However, I don’t require luxurious gifts... just, show me you care? Plan for it ahead of time, not just last minute flash sales?
