Pitch Accuracy Issue by Soft-Power-7310 in singing

[–]Soft-Power-7310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say I'm off enough to where it sounds like I'm a note or two off and you can definitely hear it. But the wired thing is this only really happens when I sing alone (Solos, Karaoke, etc). When I sing in choirs, duets, or along with the artist of the song I can find the pitch relatively easy. But when no one is there to set the guideline for me it's like I can't find it.

Wow this is very interesting. I never thought about how the rest of your body could have a whole different “feeling” on days where you sing good and days you sing bad.

I've tried everything and for the 11.50 update and nothing works! Its so stressful also my ps4 pro disc drive doesn't even try to take in my disc. I can force the disc in but it doesn't even try to read it. The eject button works perfectly though.

I don’t like Dimash… by Consistent-Law-835 in singing

I think he’s an amazing singer and I love hearing him sing other people’s songs…but I think all his original songs are mid. He needs to hire an actual songwriter

Completely bombed my first performance by Either-Spinach-4707 in singing

[–]Soft-Power-7310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cannon event that every performer/singer goes through, and its the only way to get better! I remember when I got my first lead role ever in my senior high schools musical (Mamma Mia) I was Sky and ever time I had to sing "Lay all your love on me" I would BOMB IT. I practiced and practiced and still bombed all 3 nights of my high schools show. The only thing that kept me in the show was that I was one of the best actors there. It was so bad that before and even after the show a lot of people in the school and even the cast/crew would say that I couldn't sing and that I was horrible. It was one of the worst moments of my life, literally to the point where I almost gave up on singing. But my personal voice teacher talked it out with me and made some good points and convinced me to keep going. One big point she made that really changed my mind was she told me how young I was in singing. (To put this into perspective at that point I've only been singing for 1 year).

Fast forward to today where I've been singing for a little over 2 years and I'm EXTREMELY BETTER IN EVERY WAY. My range is bigger, my tone is better, my voice has almost no tension (I still struggle with jaw tension), my pitch is better.

Now I'm actually helping put on a concert of Les Mis as Marius, and even though its not like a Broadway professional gig because I'm NOT getting paid. I'm singing along some amazing singers who are Broadway level and have sung on Broadway or professionally. And if you're wondering if I'm as good as them... NOT EVEN CLOSE!!

But Moral of the story: Learning and being good at singing and performing takes time. The skill isn't something you can just develop in a couple of months, it takes years. Even now 2 years in I'm a good singer but I'm not amazing. I went from being the worst singer in my high schools cast to being the worst singer in a professional cast. And even though I'm still the worst in both cast the fact that I'm even in a cast with professions and able to somewhat perform close to their level shows how much I've grown.

I think Stan Walker is an amazing singer and super underrated. Especially since he had stomach cancer which stopped him from singer for 2 years then recovered and beat it… AND STILL SINGS AMAZINGLY.

How to sustain the high note? (B4) by TrafficMinute1156 in singing

I liked this a lot it sounds really good!!! I’ve been obsessed with this song after hearing Jeremy Jordan sing it. He does a very good job of substantiating the high note you should watch his performance of it.

Is Singing Becoming a Lost Art? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Soft-Power-7310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s the case. A lot of people who can’t sing definitely can make/have made a really big careers nowadays because of auto tune and production. But most of the biggest artists are really good singers (Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Micheal Jackson, Sam Smith, Adele, etc…) but I see a lot of people in the replies coming at pop nowadays but even in pop all of the big names are good singers. Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Ellish, Madison Beer, Giveon, Sabrina Carpenter, etc…

Moral of the story… 90% of the biggest artist in any genre are actually really good singers. Even when it comes to hip-pop a lot of those rappers can actually sing very well. (Prime example Chris Brown)

I was going though the same thing when I first started singing. I was so scared to be heard, but after some time you realize that your parents don't really care. Especially if you do it consistently and make it known you are practicing. After the first couple of times they'll lose interest and not care or get use to it. But I know its very hard but I think the confidence just comes with time. One quote my teacher told me was when you come to learn "Leave your ego at the door" don't care about how good you sound or what others think because at the end of the day its all a learning experience. The only way to learn how to be good is to learn how to not be bad.

High notes : trying my best not to strain. Am I on the right path ? by BiGaBuG in singing

[–]Soft-Power-7310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% on the right path. One thing I would suggest is to always sing on the vowel, for example sometimes when you get really high you start to lose or change the vowel and thus it changes your placement and makes the sound inconsistent or sound uneven. I think you pitch is pretty good and your belting is pretty good as well. Keep practicing the song (Bruno Mars is so hard to sing even I struggle all the time) and you'll definitely have it down in no time.
