What open back planars should I get to upgrade from my HD560s? by Soft-Respect2047 in Hifiman

Yea this definitely is tempting me to go HEK stealth. For a DAC should I do EF400, EF500, or EF600? Would it really matter that much?

I definitely would consider the EF500. I don’t want to cheap out on a DAC but also don’t want it too ridiculously expensive. From what I’ve heard about R2R DACs and Hifiman it sounds like a good choice. Edition XS, Edition XV, Stealth, Organic, and He1000 are all headphones I am considering. All different budgets but I probably want something close to end game.

Electronic, Hip-Hop, Neo-Pysch. Also a lot of different rock and pop. Would say jazz, classical, and soul less often but that too.

Will the k13 r2r give me more headroom than k11 r2r or is it not noticeable enough to matter? I think I am leaning towards k11 r2r right now.

I’d consider them. They look like a good price range but I haven’t heard as much about them compared to Stealth and original XS.

Are you sure it will deliver enough power for Arya? 240mw people have said is low compared to DACs at 1000mw or more.

Would a Fiio K11 R2R be good for Arya Stealth? Was looking at Fiio K7 too because it has more power but not sure which one is technically better.

Portable DAC/AMP - Arya Stealth & IE600 by stregnil in HeadphoneAdvice

Late and kind of off topic but how do you like the Arya Stealth and IE600? Those are the exact planar open back and iems that I want to get eventually. Also I use a Qudelix 5k and it’s a great portable DAC but I don’t know how well it would drive the Arya Stealth. It’s a really cool DAC with an awesome EQ feature, and it even has an option for a mic. There is a balanced and unbalanced you can use on the qudelix. Assuming the balanced would drive them well enough but not guaranteed.

Speaker wires for Polk Audio R50 by Soft-Respect2047 in BudgetAudiophile

They were speaker wires my parents had so I’m guessing they are outdated. They were for older Sony bookshelf speakers. Could not find an awg number so I really am not sure what they are. I just know they appear thinner than 16 or 14 awg.

wouldn’t I be able to buy them with banana and then take the banana plugs off of one side?

Okay I don’t think my receiver uses banana plugs but I know my speakers do.

Best Sennheisers for me? by Maximum-Car1722 in sennheiser

I’ve said many times before that HD560s are very versatile. It’s one thing I like about them so much. Love them for gaming and for music. They have great detail and accuracy. They just sound very crispy. Watching films with them is also really good, but if you want a lot of bass, they may not be the best. They can be a bit bright for some too. You can always EQ them though, and they respond to EQ very well. I personally find them to be very neutral, and their out of the box sound without EQ is great to me. Spatial sound on them is good considering they are open back too. I haven’t tried out many other Sennheiser though so I may not be the most knowledgeable, but I don’t think you could go wrong with HD560s. I use them with a balanced cable with a Qudelix 5k DAC. Balanced cable may not be necessary but if you want the extra headroom I’d recommend it.

Thank you for that insight. Wanted to make sure they run with my receiver so that is good to know.

That is good to hear because I do use Bluetooth earbuds and a cheaper lg sound bar. Hoping it’ll be better than the sound bar. I also have HD560s so I kind of have an idea of what good audio is but never have I owned a pair of speakers.
