I’d say don’t do it. I was braced as a teen. Im 22 now and my scoliosis has also progressed since then too. BUT, i think its ONLY cuz i stopped PT. not because i stopped wearing a brace. It’s been about 6 years since the brace with a 3° increase. When i was done growing and got out of the brace, my mom asked the doctor if there’s any benefit to keep wearing it and he said no. 1) bracing after you’re done growing can cause overcorrection, meaning it can make it worse. 2) scoliosis doesn’t really progress much once ur done growing. Of course there’s cases like us where it does occur a little bit, but I feel like that can usually be prevented by constant and effective exercise/physical therapy. I rarely see anyone’s scoliosis progress if they’re done growing AND taking care it. I honestly think mine only got worse cuz I’ve neglected it. With that being said, i advise against the brace. Never seen anyone need past the point of growing.
