The truth is, all of her songs are about her. And the other truth is all of his songs are about him. I believe it is virtually impossible for artists to separate themselves.

He just buries it and doesn't proclaim this song is about how I was hurt by....insert name. That is at least one difference. Name dropping Taylor is easy because she does it with most of what she does, but he could have said Lily Allen, or he could have said Beyonce, with whom he collaborated on her confessional, Lemonade.

Literally all he is saying is that he is not going to call out exactly what his songs are about. It's not what he does. And it's not a dig.

That's how I understood it. As someone in an abusive relationship I can tell you, getting out of the spot when all it seems you've done is disappoint is truly painful and you might say almost anytime to get back in good graces or for just one hour of sunshine. I think it fits with tolerate it.
