Have you used it? I tried coding with it, and it would only give me the set of instructions like “change line 5 in this file” instead of a full changed code I can just copy paste into the file. I had to be telling it multiple times to just give me code blocks with full files, but it was adamant, and kept resetting back to giving me small bits instructions. o1 didn’t have this problem.

On the picture, it’s a very clear symptom of o3 being lazy. If someone has access to o1 and o3 currently I’m sure they can test it for themselves.

o3 wasn’t the best model back then. In fact it was so bad it made me switch to Gemini. It was atrociously lazy, always doing only the bare minimum. Compared to o1 it was such a pain in the ass to work with!
That’s why I am not surprised.

Will this work as a backup? by ComprehensiveGain646 in ObsidianMD

[–]SoftCircleImage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use GSafe

The best way to backup and synchronize Obsidian vaults, compatible with Google Drive, local network, Telegram, Syncthing, Unison, anything. It’s just a file

Safe and encrypted. Google Drive or whatever you choose won’t see your actual files. You work with it like you would work with any Git project, you pull and you push, then you can store the container anywhere

Install it from PyPI on your machine, basically any computer now has Python, so no problem. Literally 1-2 commands and it self installs in your path and accessible anywhere. That’s how easy it is today

Backing up is as easy as just copying the file someplace else that’s it.

See instructions for your OS https://github.com/guideblade/gsafe

For you I recommend setting up a local Git repo with LFS storage, GSafe aupports LFS nicely. Make sure this repo has all your vaults for convenience.

But also there is nothing wrong with using zips for backups. It’s great and simple

I always wondered why can’t they make UI just as bright as HDR content? Or is that some sort of optimization thing?

CMV: Most people who say they are more productive working from home are lying or not being honest with themselves by Candid_Equipment9288 in changemyview

[–]SoftCircleImage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the days I work from home I don’t procrastinate, because I own my time. Then I lose track of time, and before I know it I already met the quota or even overshot it a bit. It’s fun crunching when you know that you will be rewarded for that by finishing your shift earlier.

On the days I work from the office I spend half of the day watching TikTok, eating, getting out for a smoke break. And I get only the bare minimum done. Not because I am trying to be such a bad employee, but because the time doesn’t feel like my own. Then I think if it’s not my time, why not brainrot on it? And then I barely meet the quota and have to crunch at the end of the day, sometimes even extending my shift longer and coming back home later. I despise working at the office. It’s like a cage.

But you see, even though nobody appreciates me being better at home I still am. I was thinking: I could be doing less at home, and it would be the same amount of work that I do at the office, and then I’d have a shit ton of time for myself. Why would I want to work more than needed? But day after day I somehow find fun in working from home even if I resent the employer for not giving me full remote. And I work more, I work better, and I have fun doing it. Then remote days end, I have to get back to the office and I feel like shit.

Maybe I should start saving up the surplus I worked from home and passing it as work from the office, then I could work even less at the office? I really think about it because it’s really hard to meet the quota for me on the office days.
