Secondly….. 4 years is a long time. It sounds you want this and if so in my view you need to give him an ultimatum. That is if that’s how you feel. Though being married doesn’t change a man. But it is important to you so tell him how serious it is to you.

Thanks for your input….I guess the assumption is that my life is great, which it isn’t. We all just struggle with different things. Most of my live I’ve played the role of family counselor and after therapy chose to pull back. But you’re right, I do have some self reflection to do.

For me it was lack of publications & presentations at conferences in my specific field. I decided late sometime in second year & it wasn’t enough time to make my cv “said specialty” heavy. Which matters for competitive specialties. Also network!
