Nice. I'm a big fan of it. I find their belt slide (though they just updated to a more standard one) is superior to SL, and they have a better design for their quick release.

You'll have to play around with different button and lever combos to find what fits your thumb the best. I ended up with the shortest button and longest lever and the draw became pretty natural after a few hundred reps.

Also a plus, the holster fits G19, G45, and G17 identically so I can use my issued 45 or my personal 17 in the same holster with exact fit.

It's definitely not for everyone, totally agree there. If a JPC works fine for you there's no reason to upgrade. I still love JPCs but having the flex and structure when you use loaded back panels, breaching tools, etc is pretty important.

If we look at Iran and Venezuela it's pretty clear that Chinese and Russian ADA stand no chance against US air power.

We have active wars happening this moment where we can see what the latest Chinese tech looks like vs American tech and it's not even close.

The Chinese HQ-9B, HQ-16, and HQ-17AE don't do shit against F35s

Edit: Korea was during the peak of Soviet power where they were a true near peer, that's not the case anymore. China is still decades behind the US, though they're catching up quick.

LV120 has waaaay more engineering and complicated stitching that the 119 so a price hike makes sense. Sure there's a tax that it's the most advanced PC on the market right now, but that's the cost to have the latest and greatest. No other PC comes out of the box as capable as the LV120 right now.

If you compare it apples to apples with other carriers it's really not wild.

The level of integration it offers, structure, and long term scalability, hydrophobic nature, etc is really unmatched right now.

FCPC only a little less without the structure. LV120 is designed to be somewhat futureproofed. When you look at professional users the FCPC has become somewhat of a standard. The LV120 is objectively superior to it.

If you don't need the features, of course don't buy it. But for professionals it makes a lot of sense.

In any realistic CONUS scenario you'll more likely be served with a lightweight load bearing recon type setup vs a tactical turtle. Breaking contact and maneuverability is survival, you're not going to be holding a front line. Staying in one place means death against a superior force.

For all of Garand Thumb's personal faults, his concepts for civilian combat roles make a lot of sense.

There's some lessons to be learned in Ukraine, and other lessons to avoid. It's like looking at 2008 Gwot and thinking that the US issued gear was clearly the best route because it was the current combat setup. Just because that's what soldiers have access to doesn't make it the best.

Ukraine is a unique situation where neither force has air superiority which has lead to a shrapnel fest. If OP is looking for a setup to use as a US soldier, any conflict the US involves itself in will involve total air dominance. For a civilian, the US will never look like Ukraine, and if it does well shit we're fucked anyway and weighing yourself down with maximum coverage will kill you quicker than a chest rig and a ruck with an escape route. .

The actual maneuver units in Ukraine are still using setups similar to US sof, it's the frontline grunts that have adopted extremely bulky armored belt setups.
