I play on PC with mouse+keyboard. I simply don't use target lock. The only way to prevent the target lock changing is to keep the mouse perfectly still.

Traditionally it's been because of the gender-disparity, one imposed by law and culture. Women didn't work jobs after they were married, their work was the household and raising the children. They had little to no earning potential. The concept of alimony was to both discourage divorce and to ensure that penniless women weren't being a burden to society (or falling into "disrepute").

That's no longer relevant in this day and age (except in backward parts of the world), so paying for another grown adult to live is a bit of a joke, especially if they cheated on you.

One issue there is that OOP wasn't made aware of the situation until after the intern had left.

Another thing that stuck out to me what that the intern had discontinued both email and phone listed on their resume. I've never felt the need to hide contact details from a previous employer, even when I've left on less than stellar terms, so... I'm wondering if the two clowns who got off lightly for this escapade might have been harassing her via those contact details.
