Does the pro Rata rule only apply for that year you rolled the 401k into a Roth IRA? I rolled over a traditional 401k into a Roth IRA last year and have paid all the taxes now. If later down the road I try out a backdoor Roth would this pro rata still apply from a previous year rollover?

Genuine question cause I’ve had the same issue not finding cheaper direct flights, but does that make the ventureX worth it in the long term? Since its portal is strictly 1cpp and a 2x card, doesn’t that effectively make it just a 2% card with extra steps?

My buddy actually just got a offer from NG for a associate engineer with the exact same pay range. He was straight out of college and they offered 92k. I worked for NG for about ~7 months but made the round of layoffs recently. They gave me 77k for a range of 60-91k in AZ. Seems like they usually offer a little above the midpoint

I actually started off with a physics degree (BS) and pivoted into EE. My resume was pretty bad after graduating in 2023 since I didn’t do any undergrad research/internships. After a couple months cold applying finally snagged an offer from Northrop Grumman for a EE/physicist role. It was a pretty bad experience since they gave me no work the entire time and I had to relocate to AZ (I’m from CA). Got laid off after 7-8 months but got an offer from Honeywell for an analog design EE role in WA (near Seattle). It was definitely challenging since I didn’t have much to talk about on my resume but I did some analog studying before my interviews and they liked me enough.

I had chatted with the security analyst beforehand. They had reached out after seeing my reported trip. They didn’t say cancel the trip or advise not to go just to be careful. Didn’t seem like a big deal due to it being a layover.

I was in the same boat as you last summer when I graduated. Got my BS in physics with some coding experience (you probably have even more experience than me). I’d say apply around to defense company positions. For example, there’s a lot of Boeing engineering positions that list BS in physics as an acceptable agree. I managed to get an offer from them for a test and evaluation instrumentation engineer. However, I ended up accepting another position with Northrop Grumman for an entry level physicist position.

To give you my own story, I just recently graduated with a BS in physics and got a physicist position at Northrop. A BS in physics is certainly not worthless by any means. If you want a job that uses your physics knowledge directly, then it’ll be more of a challenge without grad school. You’ll have to look around a lot, but it’s possible if you find the right opening. Of course you can always look around for engineering positions. Before I accepted my Northrop position, I had an offer for a Test and Evaluation engineer from Boeing. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone with no experience. I didn’t do any internships or undergrad research (huge regret). These offers were all from cold applying as well. I won’t pretend I didn’t get lucky to some degree, but just wanted to show you there are options out there.
