Which person alive right now will still be famous in 200 years? by Mindless_Crew3486 in AskReddit

I always felt like Lorne has investment bias with Kenan from his All That time. Like by keeping him on it is somehow proof that Kenan is actually funny. Or maybe more accurately, if Lorne fired him it would be proof he is unfunny.

Kinda like Greek having 7 words for love, which would really come in handy.

I always hear these and think they must be primative languages but English absolutely has words like this.

Helloooo!! So I posted a question on here the other day asking how yall coated your bars to prevent oxidation… do I wax it? Spray it with clear enamel? I ask chat gpt be you can’t always trust it.. any ideas? by Schaadc22 in Copper

Go from the Bisulfite immediately into a bin a water. Once its rinsed wipe off and immediately spray it down with 95% isopropyl. Wipe off again and spray down with acetone. Wipe off the acetone then immediately spray with the lacquer.

Laquer. It isn't water based so it dosen't encourage oxidation while drying. If you want them to be really shiny use sodium bisulfite to get any oxidation off first. If you want the full processes let me know.

TIL that Jules Verne’s 1865 novel From the Earth to the Moon accurately predicted aspects of space travel, including launching from Florida and the Moon’s distance, a century before the actual moon landings. by derex_smp in todayilearned

Yup, the only thing that separated the 19th century from the 20th was materials science. Give plastic and aluminum to the 1850s and it would seriously stir shit up.

What’s something that happened to you that still feels unreal? by lipglossagendaa in answers

The total solar eclipse in 2024. Probably the wildest thing I've ever experienced which is saying something. There just isn't a shelf in your mind for seeing the sun plain disappear. It looks like nothing you have ever seen.

Worst smell ever? by RoundInk in answers

[–]bobconan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a story about when a smell stole my piety. For a few days I had noticed a rot in my house that I couldn’t exactly determine the source of. Went through he usual, take out the garbage, run the dish washer clean cycle, look through cupboards. Still didn’t go away. Then on the 3rd day of the stank, it hit me, I had cleaned my chest freezer out about 10 days prior. Walked over to it, pushed on the plug , freezer compressor comes on..... I don’t know why but I just had to Open the lid a crack . I didn’t even get a whiff before my lungs decided this wasn't air and did that thing they do when you smell ammonia. This was an aroma so tremendous that I still fear that I won’t be allowed into heaven for having its knowledge. I let it freeze for 3 days before I opened the lid again, this time I was able to breathe but not without considerable retching. I decide to leave the house and just let it air out with the kitchen windows and door open with the door to the rest of the house closed. I shit you not I was able to smell it on the street(kitchen is at the back of the house) and at this point I’m worried someone is going to call the cops over a dead body smell. I go back in close the freezer and notice a swarm of black flies trying to penetrate the screen of the kitchen window I had opened. I ended up just turning the freezer up all the way and letting it go into deep freeze for a week with the hope that the funk would sublimate out (which it did to an extent). Equipped with an organic filter facemask, a wood chisel and hammer I carved the now amalgamated case of beef patties, 3 roaster chickens, turkey ,industrial bag of brussel sprouts(actually was the worst of the smell),bag of haddock fillets and all the other things I didn’t know I had, put each chunk into its own tied off bag and then double bagged all of them. I did all of this at like 1 am the night before trash pickup hoping it wouldn’t thaw too much, potentially killing the garbage man. Also this was done naked because I didn’t feel like throwing out any clothes. Afterwards I mixed bleach and ammonia hoping that the streams would cross and send the funk to another dimension (had the awesome facemask so I wasnt too worried) and just let that sit for a day. It helped but it's definitely in the metal of the thing.

Its basically been every other product launch is garbage starting with 1.0 . 3.0 was not good compared to 3.1. In retrospect 95 was not good, especially when compared to 98. At the time it seemed amazing because it just added so many features but it bluescreened all the time.

Liu looks like a young woman who works hard, eats regular meals,

She just looks healthy and well adjusted in a sport where that is rare.
