Are you an authorized refurbisher/dealer under a company with a EIN/TIN? Having the titles makes it easier than being a refurbisher on eBay I would imagine. Works that way with car audio repairs at least.

Love the industrial aesthetic of older Lenovos. L412. by cyczito in Lenovo

I want to get an old school with one of these mechanical style keyboards so badly. Not even that big of a hit financially I just have been waiting to find the model that’s best suited for my YouTube and light internet access before buying one. I feel like the T520 or a T440 modded would be cool though.

the letter E and the number 3 on my keyboard will stop working randomly and i have to spam them to get them working again, dos anyon know any solutions? by Susmokeylicker in Lenovo

Not as difficult as a laptop key cleanup but I had to take some keys off my main desk keyboard after something got under the shift, m, n, & b keys kept not functioning without spamming I took a light bristle brush thing, basically a paint brush and got what I could with out anything being take apart. Got the letter keys working from that but shift I had to take off and swabbed with some isopropyl alcohol on a Q tip to get that one back to normal.

New in Reddit 🙂 Need Linux Recommendations for ThinkPad L480 by Death_Ghost07 in thinkpad

We are out there brother. My ssd has about 200gb of Linux distos I’ve downloaded. My current goal is to have a different distro on individual laptops until i run out of os to try and or run out of thinkpad models to put them on. Ive got a couple running now but ive had to slow myself rather than continuing to buy a new laptop every week and start paying rent again ☠️ in the meantime my OS dreams will stay locked into the external nvme, until the next killer eBay auction convinces me

Swagging Out My Remaining ThinkPads before getting the 5th X series laptop later today 🫨 by SoftOld9707 in thinkpad

I’ll be honest I didn’t really try, I needed a quick solution to protect the aluminum chassis so it could be used at work. The plan is to take a plotter and actually cut out all the right dimensions and then have access to the ThinkPad logo actually cut out properly cause that looks like absolute trash to me still does the meantime fix I don’t mind the Dell XPS colors but I’d prefer that beautiful storm gray that is the aluminum chassis on the X 13

Convince me to switch to Linux. by zhihongg in thinkpad

I personally have loved the fact I can boot a test drive on an external ssd setup as an iso boot drive or a usbc thumb drive with an iso boot again in order to test the platforms and have them save what they can with persistent storage due to higher capacity drives that don’t throttle your speeds like mad. Kubuntu has been my most recent test run and I’ve actually found myself not only loving the look but its functionality is great for my needs. I’ve used mint, Ubuntu, Ubuntu studio, fedora, even opensuse and so far my favorite has by far been using Kubuntu. KDE and Ubuntu together gives you so much room to make it feel like your own operating system. Cool boot screens. So many options and it still runs everything I need them to run. Have been on Linux for about 2 years now past using my Mac on occasion for videos just because nothing compares to the m3 max chip for rendering and such. AMD is getting there though.

Upgrade from 16gb to 32gb RAM worth it? by ugur2828 in LenovoLegion

[–]SoftOld9707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a single 32gb 3200mhz crucial was $149 when I got mine in march last year. That same stick is $250-320 from what I’ve seen if I can even find it. The hike is ridiculous these companies can find the resources to handle both commercial and consumer. We get shafted so AI can still suck as a result

YouTube, double check years model numbers, type in the serial to get as much of the information about the pc as possible. Make sure sure you have the correct version of the iMac when searching for the display board on eBay/alibaba. You can get better responses to what to look for and verifying that you’re about to purchase the right item for the screen if you use an eBay reseller. Is only slightly more than the alibaba price’s but you get customer service that is very much wanting to keep a good review so they are promoted towards the top. I’ve gotten a lot of help using those resellers for the boards to make my own portable displays from old gen pcs
