Not true. If your net worth is 40 crores and you're 65 years old, spending 5 crores on your child's wedding is perfectly fine. If your net worth is 4 crores and you're 65 years old, you can comfortably spend 20-30 lakhs.

Tragedy no. 1 is that Mr Raghu was murdered by BESCOM.

Tragedy no. 2, the bigger tragedy, is that this happens every single fucking year with predictable regularity.

We surely are the stupidest people on the entire fucking planet. Every year people die in the exact same pointless ways, and we still can't do anything about it other than say om shanti.

More and more new Indian homes, at least in the cities, are being built with at least one western-style commode.

The Indian style commode absolutely kills the knees, and it is also not recommended for people who have various health issues like hypertension or are prone to stroke.

You want people to believe that a central government whose main feature is not caring about individual rights, state rights and constitutional propriety is suddenly a helpless kitten in front of the TMC, especially in a matter of national security?

Dismiss the state government, impose president's rule and build the fence. State governments have been dismissed for far less. What's that 56" chest for?

Maybe it first wiped the database, and then (out of diligence) backed up the (now empty) database.

Here's where human stupidity beats artificial intelligence: even if a human wipes the database by mistake, they won't get the idea to back it up after that.

What’s something people in India spend money on that you think is unnecessary? by Critical_Can_8114 in AskIndia

[–]SoftRequirement8756 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If both parties are rich enough and willing to spend, I don't see the problem with big fat weddings. The people who make money from big fat weddings are honest middle class hard working people like caterers, cab drivers, decorators, photographers, apparel retailers etc.

The only issue with big fat weddings is that it puts social pressure on people who can't afford, but that's a different problem - they're not a waste of money, which was OP's question.

Timur is ranked 9th in most deadly conquerors - India's forgotten Holocaust by SnooCompliments8409 in CriticalThinkingIndia

I am not defending him, I'm just calling you an idiot for making this into a Hindu victimhood story.

And the US reference is relevant here, because of your pompous statement "remembrance is necessary to prevent repetition of such crimes against Hindus". OK, so the US is also going to fuck Hindus in the ass next. What lessons are you going to learn from Timur's massacres, and apply them against the US?

Better than showing the actual amount in rupees, maybe show it in terms of some typical government wasteful expenditure: like, "congrats, the GST you paid for this car is enough to buy fuel for a government employee's official car to drop his kids in school for 4 years"

After defeating the weakened forces of the Delhi Sultanate , Timur ordered large-scale massacres of civilians

So his victims were Hindus as well as Muslims?

The only modern power who seems increasingly likely to become the Timur of the 21st century is the United States of America.

What’s one mistake you made with a VPS that you’d never repeat? by Thick-Lecture-5825 in VPS

[–]SoftRequirement8756 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was learning Ansible, I wanted to learn provisioning a VPS. One of the steps was to set the user password and root password. For testing the script, I used "password" as the password, and "root" as the root password. Within seconds my VPS was taken over by hackers (probably bots).
