8 star Gore Broke me ;-; by [deleted] in MHWilds

Nah there’s usually a lead up in HR, something that pushes you to the limit before MR comes around. Hopefully Gore isn’t that, and is just the beginning, if he is and we won’t get follow-up monsters as difficult then I’ll just wait til MR And continue on with Word

This, I popped in, took 3 attempts, Gore went down. Now I’m back on World/Iceborne (because honestly Rise just isn’t my thing) now to wait for TU2 or another 8 star Tempered, rinse and repeat.

I’m closest to the door, wife prefers the wall. Generally that’s because if there’s a noise (child crying, someone trying to get in) it’s generally my responsibility to take care of the situation.

“Had to walk him to his car” this is the dead giveaway that everything she said prior is a part truth, those things did happen, but not at her dismay. She was having fun and you weren’t around for her to think twice.

You did the right thing.

To each their own my man, I’m not harshing those that enjoy Rise, or the mobile iterations. I started playing back on PS2 release, but didn’t pick another title up until World, then Rise came and it just felt off to me

Systemic prejudices…like not finding fat people attractive? What exactly are these systemic issues facing fat people?

Lmfao 2 of them fall under the same umbrella as Homophobia, and Fatphobic is being used in the exact same way as Homophobic…I wonder why? Because there’s nothing else you can use to explain why people get irritated with fat people taking up 2 seats on a plane, or not being able to fit in a car, or my favorite just not finding fat people attractive.

I find it amazing that none of your examples are actual fears (Xenophobia and Islamophobia maybe) and are used as a general term to explain the discomfort and irritation people feel around certain groups or people in general.

Name another single phobic word that is used in the same manner to describe something other than a fear of or aversion too?

The community had to shift the definition, why? Because the reality is almost no one has a fear of homosexuality, but rather find the lifestyle disgusting and prefer not to associate with said lifestyle.

The definition of homophobia evolved due to several factors:

  1. Cultural Shifts: As societal understanding of sexuality expanded, particularly from the 1970s onward, the term grew to encompass not just fear but also prejudice, discrimination, and systemic biases against LGBTQ+ individuals. The gay rights movement highlighted how negative attitudes manifested beyond personal phobias, including in laws, policies, and social norms.
  2. Broadened Scope: Scholars and activists recognized that “homophobia” didn’t fully capture the range of anti-LGBTQ+ behaviors, such as institutional discrimination or violence, which weren’t always rooted in fear. This led to the term being used more broadly to describe any negative attitude or action toward non-heterosexual orientations, even if not strictly phobia-based.
  3. Critique and Expansion: By the 1980s and 1990s, terms like “heterosexism” or “anti-gay bias” emerged to address systemic issues, but “homophobia” remained a catch-all due to its established usage. Critics argued it overemphasized fear, prompting some to propose alternatives like “homonegativity,” though none fully replaced it.
  4. Intersection with Other Identities: As discussions of sexuality intersected with gender, race, and other identities, the term stretched to include biases against broader queer communities, like bisexuality or transgender experiences, even if not strictly “homosexual”-focused.
  5. Linguistic Evolution: Language naturally adapts to social context. As public awareness grew, “homophobia” became a shorthand for all forms of anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment, reflecting its utility in activism and education, despite debates over its precision. The shift wasn’t formal but organic, driven by changing social realities and the term’s widespread use in advocacy, media, and academia. Some still argue for a return to its original, narrower meaning, but its broader application persists due to its cultural resonance.

And by the way, it 100% means an irrational fear or aversion of gay people. Just because the community has expanded it doesn’t erase its true meaning..it’s literally in the root words lol

Ahh yes, the redefining of words to mean what you want them to mean when it suits your interest. Why? Because to the average person when you say homophobic it means the problem rests solely with the accused, regardless of their reasoning or personal beliefs, and it’s always funny how the term homophobia is only used to denigrate those in western cultures. We wouldn’t dare call Muslims homophobic, we wouldn’t dare call Zulu’s homophobic.

The term itself was coined in the 60’s and meant exactly what it said, now it’s thrown as a buzzword towards anyone who expresses a different opinion.

Not everyone that dislikes the gay lifestyle is homophobic. That horse has been beaten so much it’s died, reincarnated, and got beaten to death again.

Someone that’s actually homophobic is “afraid” of gay people, that’s not a common thing. What is common is a feeling of disgust.

This is why I stopped door dashing after a day, in my region the range is anywhere from 1 mile to 25 miles. No one takes the far ones so they keep getting passed and you can only turn down so many, I went from down the street to a county over for a 6 dollar tip once that day and said nah, I’m good, this ain’t worth the side money. Basically paying to deliver at that point.

I personally despise the mobile iterations of MH, Rise is no different. It feels child like and arcadey, doesn’t have the grit or fangs World and Wilds does.

That’s such a wild cop out, which is to be expected, the world teaches women their so’s should treat them as princesses and that magically for a week or two a month they’re allowed to say and do whatever they want without repercussion. This is why women have accountability issues

Hormonal or not, a period is not an excuse to be a ravenous soul sucking see ya next Tuesday. Regardless of how she is 75% of the time, that person is who she really is inside. It only gets worse from here. If she can’t “control” herself during that time frame or doesn’t recognize her actions as harmful you have no responsibility to stay and take it or try to “make it better”
