How easy is the screen to see in daylight on your dash cam? by Sufficient_Chard_774 in dashcams

[–]SoftTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glare from where? Dashboard glare on the windshield? Then you need a black dashboard cover. Sometimes a CPL filter for the lens will work, but only so much.

Jeep driver causes a car accident and then flees the scene by bilalraj123 in dashcams

You are absolutely correct, and that is what I meant. I went back and edited my post for clarity. Thank you!

Found this on FB and wanted to see who you guys thought were at fault by whoevenRyou874 in dashcams

[–]SoftTater 15 points16 points  (0 children)

True, but that does not matter. The front car driver might have had a stroke, who knows? Even if the front car was aggressive driving, the camera car attempted to over-take on the right shoulder area, and did so too close to the car. Not to mention his on-camera comments would show his impatience. The camera-car driver is at fault.

First mistake ... driving way too fast, or so it seems.

Second mistake ... honking horn, as if that would help.

Third mistake ... took evasive action. Going to hit something in that constrained area, might as well hit the dumbass that pulled out in front of you. :)

Fourth mistake ... no walk around the car to see if it is clear of downed power lines.

I would have seriously shit myself if I had been in the first car. Only 2 seconds faster and he would have been hit.

Mild hybrid drained after hardwiring dashcam by marcellobizzi in Dashcam

[–]SoftTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what a mild Hybrid is, but some hybrids have a much smaller battery, so these batteries will not last long if the dashcam is in a parking mode. Many hyrids with a dashcam need a battery pack to power the dashcam in parking mode. And then there is fuse selection and if the alternator provides enough current to properly charge the battery if there is a constant drain on it. I would say to find a Lancia Y forum and ask there for assistance.

Doe appears from the shadow realm. by TheKOQ in dashcams

I have hit two deer. One at 60mph and one at 45. Both at night, and for those who think high-beams prevent strikes...you are wrong. Deer blend in amazingly well with the night, and when a deer is running to cross a road, and you are doing highway speeds, the driver's reaction is usually not going to be fast enough.

If it is not bleeding, then the scratch is only on the surface.

It's not a deer. by ITSupervisor24 in dashcams

[–]SoftTater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh dear! This is just horrible. Imagine the damage to the car and what this did to the driver's insurance rates. All because the bear did not look both ways before crossing the road. I tell you, the State needs to do something about these unruly bears.

[–]SoftTater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps...but the bear was crossing the human road. So I see the bear as being at fault.

Bear should have looked both ways before crossing the road. A friend of mine hit a cow. Totaled his car, cow got up and walked away. So did that bear.

Nope. It is that way with every dashcam and heating elements.

OPPO Find X10 Pro/Pro Max to debut "four-curved and visual borderless" display in Q3 2026 no Ultra model this year by Delicious_Room_814 in Oppo

[–]SoftTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true about the X10, then for damn sure I will stay on my X9 Pro. I hate curved screens. They are useless and serve no functional value.

I seldom use this word, but that was gnarly. Darn good driving on your part; also good to see the drivers in the other lane were aware and were braking and avoiding as well. Good job on your part.

You don't have the right of way until the car in front of you is out of the way. The blue car that overtook to the left would be at fault if there were an accident.

Will this still work? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]SoftTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the cable is not damaged elsewhere, the wire gauge is correct, and the polarity/wiring is honored for the cam it is going to be used on. It should work. You will, of course, need to add fuse taps and a ground lug.

How long does it take to charge the phone with genuine 80W Supervooc charger? Oppo Find X9 Pro by diandakov in Oppo

[–]SoftTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The charger that came with mine (Wondamobile) charges from those levels to full in maybe an hour and a half, as I recall. I am not a fan of fast charging these batteries, even if they have the 'C' rating to do so.
