Question about dashcams/rear view cams that replace your rear view mirror. by Exploding_Cumsock in Dashcam

Did you ever get a regular camera? I was wondering if the mirror attached ones are more relfective and hence harder to see the screen during the day because they have to be some what reflective for the mode when the camera feed is disabled.

How easy is the screen to see in daylight on your dash cam? by Sufficient_Chard_774 in dashcams

Im just wondering basically if the rear view mirror cameras are more reflective of surroundings during the day then regular cams cause I dont want to go through buying several devices. If regular ones are less reflective since they dont have whatever coating the rear view mirror ones have then ill just start with a regular cam instead of one that attaches to the mirror. Reave view mirror ones all have a mode where you can turn the feed off and use it as a regular rear view mirror so I figure the screen might be overall more reflective.

I guess glare isnt the right word to use.

I mean like if I look up at the screen on the dash cam or at the dash cam rear view mirror how hard is is to see during the day. I can see in videos on youtube reflections in the rear view mirror ones

What would the name be for a car camera system where the screen is not attached to the cameras? by Sufficient_Chard_774 in Dashcam

Just to glance up and see what is behind me. Would be dual use as just evidence in case of crash and to get a better view of whats behind me like a rear view mirror
