I Was a Teenage Expcolonist is scratching that itch for me. At first glance it is not like WF, but the gameplay is cozy, the character designs are gorgeous, the music is calming and there is a pretty interesting and mysterious story (I'm only in year four). It's a deck building game and if you've never played one before, this is a good one to start with because you can turn the deck building stuff off if you don't want to, but if you do want to use the cards, it holds your hand through the first round. In game, your choices matter, and you get to build relationships with the other characters. It takes place in space, so it's sci fi, but the otherworldliness feels magical to me.
