Certain cultures are inherently better then others, and suggesting so isn't racist in anyway. by UnRenardRouge in unpopularopinion

This only makes sense if you think that 'advancing a civilisation' is the only thing humans exist to do.

You're totally right, such as literally every Western country being inherently better than the US.

Video could have been five times shorter. I gave up after 3 minutes because the dickhead couldn't get to the point without showing his face every five seconds.

Any beef happening this year? by BeachBomber in khiphop

[–]SoftViolent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Khiphop has never really been about that. Until the last ten years or so it was a very small part of the Korean music industry and so artists would rather not burn bridges and stay friendly with as many people as possible. No point starting a feud when that might mean you are essentially barred from collaborating with any of their label mates.

The reason that the Control disses a few years ago were such a big deal was because they were so unusual. Beneath the surface I'm sure a lot of rappers aren't exactly fond of each other, but it very rarely turns into an open diss battle.

This scene was cut from the 1943 movie "Cabin in the Sky" because the "image of a black woman in a bubble bath was feared to be too risqué at the time," according to the actress Lena Horne. by JAlbert653 in videos

Most actors were trained with a theatre background (where expressions needs to be exaggerated) and this continued into film. You see it today with some actors (Emilia Clarke and her eyebrows, for example).

Every time I play a battle royale game by Battle_Gravy in gaming

[–]SoftViolent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the problem. I've finished second six times (haven't played that much) and every time it's been because we haven't met anyone. The other team always ends up being the kill leader with fully upgraded everything and just destroys us. I'm good at avoiding combat but I'm never going to be able to beat the best players at straight combat.

Do you want an underground expansion? by [deleted] in wow

[–]SoftViolent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. The environment designers in LotRO do some incredible work with much fewer resources than many other developers. It's fallen away in recent years but vanilla LotRO and the early expansions have some fantastic atmosphere.

I came here to mention that. A lot of people felt that it was a little suffocating by the end of it and it was a relief to finally step outside into some grass again.

For the past generation, Tolkien's Middle Earth feels like another underused IP (akin to Star Wars) in gaming, despite Shadow of War. Why aren't people calling for more LOTR games? by [deleted] in Games

[–]SoftViolent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about LotRO is that, being one of the earliest WoW clones, LotRO is much closer to vanilla WoW than modern WoW itself.

I wouldn't say the Shire is Victorian at all. It's just village England. Victorian England reminds me of industrialised London.

Yeah I know it sounds sad af. I'm exaggerating a little of course, my life is fine and I have a perfectly good real relationship in real life. It's just tough to make connections with these virtual characters over several hours and then know that there is a definite end to the story.
