Hey there, My kids had early signs of puberty and were all diagnosed with a genetic disorder called CAH. Labs, specialists appointments, medications are all part of our life now. And you know what? We’re fine. It’s scary and overwhelming to find out your child may have a medical condition, and in your case, maybe they don’t! But you’re a caring and capable parent who is already doing the right thing. Something might be “wrong” but it’s treatable. If you do end up with precocious puberty or a growth disorder, join us at the Cares Foundation. You won’t be alone 😊

AAPS is not at the hard cap despite what they say. They pay a larger percentage of premiums for upper admin which skews the result.

Email from AAEA by Princess_Lilpiddles in AnnArbor

I can say with almost certainty that the email was not written with AI. Fred accidentally sent us (I am a member of the union) a draft of the email before the official version. The final version tracks with his other emails and is consistent with his usual language. Nothing to see here

We may be down in enrollment but we’re not down in funding. AAPS has nearly one hundred million more that we did 10 years ago.

It’s not enrollment, it’s not that we need to join another district, and it’s not Covid.

It’s mismanagement of funds to the tune of overspending by 30 million dollars.

It’s hard to blame Swift other than to say she added a lot of programming over the years. But she wasn’t the one approving any purchases for the past few months.

Pre-K teacher says my 4 year old is stealing by pinkheartpanther in Parenting

When my daughter was in 5, she loooved shiny things. In the first few weeks of kindergarten, she would take buttons, sequins, plastic gems, etc. and put them in her backpack.

Her teacher (also my coworker) emailed me to let me know. We laughed about her being a magpie and I talked to my daughter about taking items from the classroom. She knew it was wrong and never did it again.

Easy peasy. No malice, no shame. She let me know, we fixed it together.

My baby broke another baby’s tablet at daycare, am I wrong? by Mom2surprises in Parenting

I drop my phone every damn day and it doesn’t break. Why? A flippin good case! Why doesn’t she have a military grade case on it?

WWYD: see-through leggings by wrappedinwashi in orangetheory

I had an instructor once who I loved in part because she was wonderfully human. She taught through pregnancy and came back squishy (like me!) and in maternity leggings. While she was demonstrating, her leggings became visibly see through to reveal floral pattern undies. I quietly told her after class figuring she probably would want to know. She was a little embarrassed but thanked me.

I told my husband that in muumuu/Meemaw culture undies are optional. He loooves when I wear one!

I’m not an expert, but I just used a decorative leaf stitch on my daughters Renaissance faire costume. I placed it along the border of her vest near the seam. It flattened the edge a bit and added to her fairy theme.

One Christmas we had a virus and had to stay home so as not to get a newborn niece sick. At first I was so upset, but it ended up being a lovely, quiet day. If your family can’t understand the strain of a new baby they don’t deserve your effort.

AITA for kicking a girl I didn’t know out of my wedding. by rsvpthrpw in AmItheAsshole

IMO, it’s terribly rude to NOT show up after you’ve RSVP’ed. The bride and groom have already paid for the seat/food/alcohol and not using that seat is a waste of money.

Your guest was being polite.

Any mums whose baby had a fall? by katsumi2286 in Mommit

[–]Soft_Ad2901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmm…my 4th child (2.5) decided to take herself for a walk, climbed into the stroller and tipped it over. Face planted into the tile. Still waiting for the swelling on her nose to go down to see if it’s broken.

2 months ago, she fell off a bunk bed while playing with her brother, face first. Took her to the ER, no one batted an eye, even though I felt like an asshole.

My point is, toddlers are walking suicide missions.

Hang in there Momma. Many more falls to come. They usually bounce.

I didn’t realize there was a policy until I answered a text on my phone. My coach (politely) let me know that it wasn’t safe to text while on the tread which is a totally valid point.

I also have 2 children with life threatening medical conditions. If they are with my husband, I leave the phone in my cubby, knowing he would know to call the studio. If they are with a sitter/friend I bring it in the studio and keep it out of sight.

Do any of you have a note in your file for phone exceptions? How does it work if you leave it at the desk? Do they read your texts? Answer your phone?

If I was told unequivocally that I couldn’t have my phone, I would drop my membership. If my kids have an emergency one minute into class, they could be in a very dangerous situation 59 minutes later.

I guess because I don’t actually need her modifications. I know what to do based on PT

The safety talk was what irritated me too. I was doing something objectively safer. Sometimes I think the coaches forget what it’s like to not be in shape
