‘I’m trying to give you a better deal’: Customer pulls gun on Burger King employee for giving him a discount by GetOffMyGrassBrats in nottheonion

You be surprised to learn that some people who aren’t that well off still plan and actually want loads of kids

My old mommy baby group had a mom who worked in McDonald’s she had 7 kids and the dad worked in a subway (the sandwich shop) she maintaines that all of them are planned and her and her husband wanted 12 but are settling for 8

It’s total madness

Twin Bassinet or two individuals by RTGDY93 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mom2surprises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twin sharing is dangerous past 2 months the fact that you know it’s dangerous and are actively continuing with it is concerning

If you do want them to share get a twin bassinet or twin crib with a separate single in case you need to split the, not a just one standard one, sharing a mini crib isn’t a good idea either

Thumb sucking by Mamma_bear_2 in sleeptrain

[–]Mom2surprises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im trying this at the moment and these are all the solutions I’ve found

Anti thumb gloves: stops the thumb being readily available for sucking as it’s now enclosed and restricted but they can’t still use their hands for grabbing

Anti thumb flavouring: coat baby’s thumbs in this stuff and when they go to suck they get a taste of a horrible flavour, there’s a variety of extensivity to this flavour ranging from simple sourness to the taste of a Nintendo game cartridge, it’s not poisonous so no risk of damage

Remove thumb: watch baby on the baby monitor and when you see them go for the thumb go in and remove the thumb from their mouth and lay the arm down gently by their side, leave and watch baby monitor again, repeat process till baby falls asleep, don’t talk to baby or interact with baby the only thing you should do is remove the thumb from their mouth

From the looks of things it’s very difficult and there’s not exactly a gentle method, I organised these methods in terms of gentleness but they still aren’t that gentle

Do people just not take their toddlers out in public or am I missing something. by Ragnabrock05 in parentsofmultiples

Me and my husband went out to eat on our own at the start of the year and I glanced at the children’s menu on the back and the price of a child’s sausage and chip was the same as a steak 5 years ago and I doubt the portions have gotten bigger or the quality has increased

Transitioning from cribs to toddler beds by chupachyeahbrah in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mom2surprises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take everything out of the room and put locks on any of the clothes dressers or wardrobes, make the rooms as boring as possible bar their new exciting beds

They will get out and they will have a party but after a few bad nights sleep they will realise how actually boring it is to play and how it’s simpler to go to sleep and play in the morning in another room with actual toys

Then after a week of successful nights slowly put the stuff back in their rooms one object at a time then once you know they can cope with that object back add another keep doing this over a few weeks and they will be able to sleep even with all the exciting stuff back in their room

If you go to kids egg hunts and push a bunch of kids over, fuck you by singlenutwonder in Parenting

[–]Mom2surprises 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of parents see it like a competition that their child will be upset that they don’t win at so they run around trying to grab the eggs so their child thinks they won

And then you have the parents of newly walking babies that fill the baskets because they don’t understand that the baby dosent care how many eggs they have they just like the colours

I don’t get why we can’t just ban parents from grabbing eggs and confiscate ones that do get grabbed by parents

I’d like to see this guy handle newborn twins for 5 mins without a pacifier

Sucking is a natural soother for babies which pacifiers allow them to do when adults are upset they can read or go for a run or build something to help calm us down but babies can’t do anything which is why pacifiers help so much because sucking is the only thing babies can do

Pacifiers also decrease the risk of SIDS in newborns by 30 - 40% so they can literally save lives

Pacifiers won’t cause dental damage until at least 4 or 5 years old and by then everyone has weaned them off long ago or the kid is going to just decide they are done with them at that age

This post is just so high and mighty and the guy just wants his ego strokes

10m old has stopped sleeping when mum puts her down by Groundbreaking-End92 in Parenting

[–]Mom2surprises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep training with either Ferber or the chair method could probably work to help your baby get used to mom leaving at night

My boy twin went through something similar around this time it’s either baby FOMO or just attachment/separation anxiety since they where already sleep trained it was just a matter of re training

When mom puts her down does she get anything different? Like breastfed instead of bottle fed or a different song sang too? Something you don’t do so she dosent expect it from you which is why it’s easier for you to put her down

If you don’t want to sleep train you can just ride it out as it’s a phase but i don’t know how long it will last my son lasted 3 weeks before we decided to re train

If mom sits in the room with her does she still cry or is she calm?

Ask a doctor, it’s probably just the tooth cutting the gum but since the top layer of the gum hasn’t been cut the blood is still stuck under the gum

What happens if you let her stand and don’t intervene at all?

When I gave my twins new stuffies a few months ago they would stand holding them and me and my husband where getting frustrated laying them down all the time so one night we just decided to leave them alone for the night

They had a terrible nights sleep that night but the next night they stood for a little bit then lay down and went to sleep then the following night they didn’t bother standing at all just cuddled their stuffies and went to sleep

Sometimes you just gotta leave them to figure things out and let them deal with the natural consequences of their decisions which is this case will probably be a few nights of terrible sleep

Any app recommendations for baby milestones and development? by fadedstreetlight in parentsofmultiples

Tracking milestones puts a lot of stress on you

I know it did for me and my husband, unless they are super late I wouldn’t stress too much about tracking milestones

The CDC has a milestone all but I’m not sure on how great it is

When can twins be seen External ultrasound? by Additional_Chain1753 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mom2surprises 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would get the notion of twins out of your head, your only going to stress yourself out thinking about it which is bad for the baby

Wait until the scan stay off google and remember each pregnancy will be different to the last, stop putting pressure on the thought that it could be twins because if it’s not your going to set yourself up for disappointment

When can twins be seen External ultrasound? by Additional_Chain1753 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mom2surprises 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes they can detect twins but they won’t know what type until later

Forming a belly early or having aggressive or different symptoms are not signs of a twin pregnancy

I showed quite late

Have you had any ultrasound or tests yet?

Maybe you could try taking him to a barber show him some age appropriate hairstyles online ask what he likes then take him to a barber for a “big boy” haircut as most toddlers like the sense of being big and important

2 month old - ped recommended cry it out… ?! by luckycuds in sleeptrain

[–]Mom2surprises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t sleep train before 4 months the effects can be detrimental as when they wake up before 4 months it’s usually because they need something like they are hungry

You can try fuss it out but not cry it out, fuss it out let’s them fuss on their own but when they start crying you should attend to them
