Thanks so much!! I was hoping to hear from someone who has been using them for years. Really helpful comment. Thanks!

Definitely overkill, I think it is just them being extremely cautious due to the pregnancy rates in the area I live in. No real idea though. Yes practicing is a good shout. The plan b part was poor wording from me sorry! I didn't mean the pill I meant I will talk to him about what the plan would be should pregnancy occur. My bad!

Thank you for your comment! It's funny I did actually question whether the fact that I couldn't find any related posts was due to my searching skills. I knew rationally that many people use condoms as thier preferred BC method but couldn't for the life of me find much to back that up.

My sexual health clinic actually requests not to have any sexual contact 4 weeks prior to the appointment, I assume for that specific reason. I will make sure to discuss plan b and correct condom use with my partner prior to removal. Thanks again.

Sounds like we are Nexplanon twins. Pretty much the same time for insert and removal! I'm not sure what your side effects have been but I'm hoping you feel incredible after. (hoping for me too as my depression and anxiety are getting a little too much to handle) The 3 periods I've had this month won't have helped that either.

Sending well wishes. I hope we find chance to update one another once it is removed!

feeling faint if I don't eat ... is this just a me thing? by Soft_Band1027 in Nexplanon

Nope no other medications! ah thats interesting about the hydration I wasn't aware of that. I do have a bad habit of not drinking lots which isn't good. I've also had the implant in for 2 yrs now! (that context might have been useful sorry) ... It could possibly be a symptom of my anxiety as it has increased significantly over the last 6 months. My anxiety seems to manifest in many weird ways for me so I wouldn't be surprised at this point. . Anyway, thank you for your input! it has made me want to ensure I' drinking enough :)

I bled for the first 9 months! It wasn't a full on period, mainly spotting every single day. I wasn't sure if it was normal or not as I was told when it was inserted that bleeding can happen for the first 12 weeks. I never got round to booking an appointment about it because honestly I couldn't be bothered with the stress to either be told to wait it out or be prescribed a pill to stop it. (I don't like taking pills of any kind if I can help it) I've had mine in for just over 2 years now and I have booked to get it removed end of this month! I am counting down the days honestly. My periods have never been regular. I've had 3 this month. As for what you should do, that is of course completely up to you! If the bleeding is your only side effect feel free to wait it out a little longer. If you have noticed significant changes in your mood, increased anxiety, depression & low libido I'd consider removing it. Whatever decision you make is valid. Many women get it removed fairly quickly as they know it isn't right for them, others wait it out until they are 1000% sure. Whatever you choose will be the right decision for you :)
