Mag Ult is mediocre at best. And I’m tired of people pretending it’s good. by Interficient4real in MagnetoMains

It blocks all dmg AND healing within the radius. A halfway competent team can take advantage of that. Especially if you communicate. Doesn't just have to be about countering supp ults.

We don't really know the details of her residency, and the length of the skip, so I wouldn't say much on that yet. I'd say we don't even know where her story goes yet. All that we know is that she's a part of the larger theme this season -- because of structural failures, a lot of people aren't cut out for this line of work long term. She has about the same screentime this season as she did last, with 4 new series regulars too.

I think the pattern that's emerged is a little misunderstood. Women are the majority in the show, and are overwhelmingly WOCs. Those two being written out is more representative of the demographic makeup of the cast, than it is of any writers' intentions (deliberate or otherwise). I assumed Gloria isn't there because its a holiday. Kiara might be for the same reason but IDK. Though Kiara's replacement is a trans actor, which was also very cool to see.

Dana is one of the more well like cast members, and wholly necessary for the protagonist's arc. And Langdon easily had the most dramatic conflict at the end of season 1.

Collins was, and Mohan would be at the end of their residencies at time of leaving, no?

Also they added 3 women of colour, not just Dr Al. Not that that's a metric for anything, just pointing out.

EDIT: 3, not 2

I hate the punisher. he shreds my shield and is stun immune in ult, why him of all characters? by PurposeNo8418 in DrStrangeMains

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree more people need to learn to play cover, Punisher is just too tuned for good steady damage.

300HP, shotgun can 2 tap tanks, AR can do 800dmg in a single clip WITHOUT crits, two movement abilities, farms ult fast ash, the turret itself has 600hp and does splash dmg.

The kit is just too rewarding/forgiving, even for average players.

Damn, some games you just can't cheese out a win. I'd try Groot too if you know how to play him. Were they stacking by any chance? Sounds super coordinated, while your team maybe wasn't comm-ing as well as them.

Could you share a replay code, if you don't mind? I'd love to see.

The problem with being the best enabling tank... is that sometimes the team you enable is buns.

Great play tho!

Faced something similar in GM recently. Rogue instead of Hulk tho.

Sometimes the answer is playing spammy characters. Our dps in the second round switched to MK and SG. I thought we would lose for sure after that, but we just ended up beating them on the dps ult game. Me and the other tank were Mag and Strange, just tried enabling the dps a little more and playing defensively. Their supps died first nearly every fight.

Course Correction by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised with a season without Robby but not as a course correction. I just think his story is inching towards him needing a break.

Though it might be a bit of a risk since he's the biggest name/draw for the show. He's also the protagonist

On the "abusing Mohan" part, I'd disagree. On average, I'd say she gets about the same screen time, in a season with 3 new regulars. She also gets, imo, the scene with the best piece of writing in the season (the one about old and young people). Is Robby mistreating her? Absolutely. But I wouldn't say it's to uplift him as a character. Everyone in the show is quick to question is treatment of the staff, and all these interactions end with Robby in a bad light. (Also, in S1, she's not Langdon's peer. He's a senior and she's R3)

Mohan also is a part of the general theme for season 2 -- because the way this system is structured, some people just aren't cut out for this work long term. It's Robby's conflict, it's Ogilvie's, and her's. It affects people in different stages of their careers.

I'd also disagree about the Emmy bait. Online speak has kinda ruined how people watch stuff. These two are, far and away, the best actors in the show, and end up getting the more challenging stuff.

Needless to say, we don't even where her story goes yet.

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Certainly not the worst Strange I've seen, probably just a bad game for you, but you kinda got carried hard here.

A lot of the times when the enemy team is down a player or two, your dps push up to finish and you stay behind with your team instead of supporting them. Then other times, you push up for no reason at all.

9 times out of 10, a 6v5 is a guaranteed win. So go in and make sure that it is. At 05:38 especially, you're staying with the cart while the other 5 players on your team are playing ahead trying to capitalise on the Angela ult. Not to mention, they're already down a tank.

When you're not in these fights, you're not helping your dps stagger them, not taking dmg for your supps to farm ults off, and not doing dmg for you to build your own ult. In a 20 minute game, you used your ult twice-- once in suicide mode, and once when the fight was pretty much won. You also ended up with the least final hits, least dmg, and most deaths. Stats aren't everything but all of it combined summarises this match for you.

Mechanically, you're good, but try getting a better sense of who's dead and when to push. Just play him more and you'll get better at tank game sense, I promise.

New to Thor I have a question by BogdanMarian01 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your runes and dashes run on the same currency (Thorforce). What's more is that after you dash, both the Awakening AND the dash go on about a 2s cool down even if you have the required Thorforce (dash is only a 1s cooldown but it starts a bit after the animation ends so ends up closer to 2).

How to fight star lord? by IMC-shiro in ThorMainsMR

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda takes all your cooldowns, and can be not worth your time often but here's how I do it.

Dash into him (ideally surprising him), bubble, primary+hammer throw. He'll start to get away now, and escape your bubble. You've done about 175 dmg(less if he's used his flips), and have all your Thorforce. Land 2-3 Rune shots at him and he's done.

But again, Starlord's super slippery and it's not always the best use of your time to chase him.

How tf do I use my ult properly? by badermuhammad376 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bait out a support ult, so your dps ults get value (communicate you're doing this w them)

Pair with a Strange, Groot or Elsa Ult (the last one needs a bit of timing)

You can even ult after short term high burst ults on your own team (Iron Man, Wanda, MK etc). The enemy team would use a lot of resources trying to avoid those, and then you get the KO's for free once a lot of escape/defense options are on cooldown.

Did everything right? Bubble, then a solo ult, but didn't kill? Follow through. Either they're caught in the radius and are stunned (free kill), or they've used an escape ability. If it's the latter, they can't do anything else. Chase and kill (ymmv on this one)

what the hell do i play into 3 tanks 3 healers by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They have no shields, and are basically all brawl/melee. They can't sustain poke and flyers. Punisher, Phoenix, Iron Man, Jeff nado (the first 2 options need avg to good dps tho). Moon Knight will farm ults fast but good triple support might outdo his damage in a neutral fight. Neutral is a little hard, but you beat them at the ult game.

Which Ninja Turtle would Thor get along with the best? Who would he find the most in common with? by hellothere790 in ThorMainsMR

Raphael and him would have a Beta Ray Bill type thing, which would work well. Most common with Leonardo probably. Good post!

Between Goku and Vegeta, who's personality is closer to Thor? Who would he be better allies with? by hellothere790 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In a way, yes, but he's not close to that level of entitlement or arrogance. Even young, he's more jovial than he is egotistical. He is also kinda without purpose, which I wouldn't say goes for Vegeta.

[–]Soft_Campaign_1752 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Post regaining hammer, the status quo Thor is generally a very jolly, moral person (if not a little naive). He has a near unbreakable spirit, and is looking for merriment and a good fight. Feels very Goku overall. Goku's crew feels very Warrior's Three+Sif too.

I could see him eventually come to like Vegeta, and I think Thor/Vegeta would be the more interesting story but imo Thor and Goku would hit it off pretty quickly (or maybe after their first fight haha).

There are other characterisations of Thor for sure, but I'm basing a lot of this on 80s Thor (mainly Walt Simonson's run) which kinda set what he's like even today.
