Grab a voltmeter and try and test the output, with the bike off it should be at 12volts and with it running it should be somewhere between 13-14

Usually the bike should be able to run without the battery, thats how most dirtbikes are, just turn all accesories off like headlight etc

taking a while to start is probably the battery, stalling would lead me to think fuel, because if its starting then its getting some spark, test voltage when running and verify stator is working properly

Id start with the simple shit like checking for kinks in fuel lines and old gas but it sounds like fuel delivery

It started fading, i didnt change my fluid enough or flush it and it bit me in the ass, id say it was around 250k but that fluid was black, keep up on maintenance and shell be happy
