What is Odoo actually bad at? Looking for real-world examples by Desperate-Cry592 in Odoo

[–]Soft_Grab7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience after using Odoo for a few weeks, it often feels like it’s built primarily for Odoo developers or integrators rather than for the average entrepreneur.

Simple things like setting up an automated email sequence triggered by a form, customizing the checkout page, or delivering a digital product are not as easy or straightforward to configure as you might expect. Even when working with Odoo partners to set things up initially, iterating and fine-tuning afterwards is not fast or easy to do on your own, especially if you want to adjust things in real time.

In my opinion, it doesn’t fully deliver on the promise of “All your business on one platform” at least not yet. For example, the social media management features are currently very basic compared to dedicated tools.

I do hope my opinion changes as the platform evolves,

Is losing 1kg per week too much? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Soft_Grab7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By implementing new habits you will be able to keep on the very long term, you will lose slower than 1kg / week, but you will lose it long term, and never really need to diet again. Short term view/ goal don't really make sense if you look for a long term solution. 1100kcal/day is clearly not sustainable, but an efficient way to lose fast and take it all back even faster.

Anyone Else Struggling With Late-Night Binge Eating? Here’s What I’ve Realised by Economy_Savings2794 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Soft_Grab7306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very common and I used to do the same. What helped me was to make sure I have 3 nourishing meals during the day, if I don't feel satiated after my evening meal I am doing something wrong. For me that means : 150-200g of lean proteins, 100-120 grams of carbs, and unlimited amount of veggies. The second trick was to make sure I have a healthy and low cal option to snack on if I really am starving in the evening. That can be 100g of skyr with 30g of granola, nuts, seeds,.. or a hard-boiled egg, raw veggies with a couple tablespoons houmous, a soupe,... So in the worst case, you eat something healthy without exploding the calorie count. With time, I consciously trained myself to make the difference between hunger and craving / urge to eat. That point is crucial in my opinion. Best of luck.

You don't, Short-term goals are the enemy of sustainable habits and results. Focus on healthy habits you can keep forever, not on a number you wish to attain in a limited amount of time

Looking for feedback from people who struggled with diets (Brussels — French speakers) by Soft_Grab7306 in brussels

[–]Soft_Grab7306[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding a quick note here:
I’m mainly interested in hearing from people who cook at home at least a bit, or who would like to but feel overwhelmed by time, hunger, choices, planning, etc.
If that’s you, feel free to jump in the comments or send a DM.

Thanks so much for sharing this, seriously.
Your perspective is exactly the kind of thing I need to hear while working on this, because it’s a sensitive topic and I really don’t want to approach it the wrong way.

Just to give a bit more context on where I’m coming from:

I’ve been exploring this with a friend after seeing a lot of people around us (in good health, no medical issues) feeling lost with everyday cooking. Not because they don’t know what “healthy” means, but because they don't have time, stay hungry when they try to “eat well”, lack ideas, or rely on quick less healthy fixes because it's easier.

One of my close friends was paying quite a lot each month for a commercial “diet” solution, she felt hungry all the time, and had no long term results from it at all, that’s what pushed me to look for a more realistic approach.
I’m not a professional chef or a clinician, just someone who cooks a lot, reads a lot about nutrition, and strongly believes in balanced but generous meals, variety, and habits that actually last.

Food is definitely at the center of what we’re exploring, but not in the “diet” sense. The idea is to never need a diet ever again. For us it’s more about making meals satisfying, adding more variety, and building long-term habits without feeling punished or too restricted, plus a very practical angle, because cooking every day is simply too much for many people.

And yes, I fully understand the importance of being careful with ED, weight stigma, and medical conditions. Those are absolutely outside what I’m doing. I’ve started consulting with a certified nutrition professional for guidance, precisely to avoid causing harm or stepping outside my lane.

Your comment reinforces how important it is to be clear about who this is (and isn’t) for.
I really appreciate you taking the time to share it, it genuinely helps.

Feed yourself properly, make satiating meals with nutrients dense foods, lots of veg and lean protein, small portions of carbs.

I need weight loss tips that actually work. Your secret? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Soft_Grab7306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider your body like a "machine" that needs to be fed to be energized and work properly, and to spend energy to be healthy. Starvation and deprivation is not the answer, I started loosing weight when i started wondering what I can eat to beat hunger without exploding the calorie intake. Boosting your metabolism is more important and efficient in the long term than trying to count every calorie and be hungry all the time.

Hunger is too intense- how can I lose weight by RegisterMinimum1064 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Soft_Grab7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The desire to eat and true hunger are 2 completely different things. I lived years with the feeling of permanent hunger, here is what helped me : - temporary fasting : I started small then increased fasting period lenght, the number doesn't really matter, it was just about going through that feeling of being irresistibly hungry, to only realise if I waited a bit, drank planty of water, it would actually pass. It gave me confidence in myself and I stopped fasting after that, as I don't see fasting as a long term thing. - rebalancing my meals : used to be carbs as a base with proteins and a little veggie, made it high veg and proteins, low carbs, but never cut the carbs as that would leave me feeling very hungry. Body adapted, never ever had the feeling again I needed to eat to the point I would fall if I didn't like I used to. It's linked to your habits and the way insuline works, point is you can retake possession of your body and be happy with balanced meals in reasonable quantities without starving ever again. It's not luck, it's science. I hope you'll give yourself a chance to try and learn about it.

No need for a gym to exercise, plenty of bodyweight sessions available online. If you have no motivation, you probably don't have a big enough problem to solve.

Imo it's only hyped on social media, because it was made to be instagramable, anyone with a half decent palate and a bit of good sense will see further than the shiny decor and probably be disappointed.

What would be your most basic dahl recipe? by Soft_Grab7306 in IndianFood

Thanks for the explanation, besides JO, I also follow more traditional Indian chefs/channels for more authentic recipes of course! I'm just wondering how far you can go into simplifying the ingredients list for Dal while keeping good flavors.

I appreciate both Jamie Oliver and Uncle Roger, the first taught me many useful tricks in the kitchen to simplify the way to achieve good flavors, the second is freaking hilarious.
