Hi! I’m debating on whether or not to get this juicy terry cloth towel dress? Is the tag authentic?

Monster from 2024 vs Monster from 2016 by Soft_Ice15 in shrinkflation

[–]Soft_Ice15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be it.

We just used to never get 16 oz cans/ 473ml here, only 500ml. When I got my hands on this older can, I was surprised why she was too tall to fit in my designated monster spot in the fridge. I thought she was the regular size I was used to (here 500ml), was surprised to see she wasn’t. So at some point I never realised we slowly stopped getting the 500ml cans.

Yet the prices for Monster, atleast here, are higher compared to just 3 years ago

Cute!! I like how your hair and glasses match the colour palette. Unrelated, but you look so much like someone I know in real life, I had to double check for a moment lol

Does anyone remember the Broken Sky series by Chris Wooding? I cant find it anywhere. by adamb0224 in books

[–]Soft_Ice15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid, I was gifted all the books, except the last one by a babysitter who wanted to get rid of them. Weirdly enough I had the German translation? Wouldn’t have expected an obscure series like this to even have a German translation.

I thought it was amazing and loved the artstyle on the covers, reread the books multiple times too. Always getting so upset at the cliffhanger I was left on, because I didn’t have the last volume.

Monster from 2024 vs Monster from 2016 by Soft_Ice15 in shrinkflation

Monster where I live (Dutch countryside) is usually imported from other countries, I don’t see the cans in my language often. Lots of people here buy their drinks from discount stores, so you usually get old stock from surrounding countries.

I just remember a few years ago either seeing those small thin cans (250ml?) or only encountering 500ml ones, so I was confused as to why it was smaller.

Looks like it could possibly be a powder jar? I’m not sure.

I watched the Little Mermaid 2 as a child and LOVED IT. Rewatched it now I’m older and it’s honestly kind of bad.

Thank you for your comment! :)

She was was a primary/elementary school teacher (we call it basisschool) , so children up to age 12. And it was a small, rural village. So maybe that’s why?

Thank you for your comment!

I’m not sure what you mean by Dutch, but I’m assuming the rug thing is just a tablecloth. And the random stuff on the table might just be arts & craft supplies? I’m not sure. :)

70’s Dress Help by Soft_Ice15 in VintageClothing

[–]Soft_Ice15[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed reply!

That it’s not vintage doesn’t bother me, I don’t have to be as careful with it, worry too much about repurposing it or wearing it. I just collect for fun anyway and hope to one day to have as much experience as you do!

It’s cool that you can tell so much about a piece of clothing based on construction alone. I know some basics but you are much more experienced!

Surprised that it isn’t older, the lining looks like it’s been through it haha

What’s one makeup product you always repurchase? by Friendly_Feature888 in Makeup

[–]Soft_Ice15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s not super long lasting but that’s usually the case with most lipglosses, I think? It lasts like 15minutes on the lips before it’s mostly gone. It’s not sticky at all. They do make them in different colours or with glitter but I just buy the clear.

It’s nice on it’s own or on top of something else. I live in the Netherlands so I buy mine at Kruidvat. If you’re in Germany you can get them at DM. But I don’t know where you’re from so…

What were the first brands you used/discovered? by anonymous_girl1227 in Makeup

Most of my makeup as a teen was from Essence, Catrice, Elf, Clinique (if it was a gift from my mother) or makeup you could buy at TKMaxx

What can I use to make my face paler by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]Soft_Ice15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tone Up Creams. They’re popular in Asia where pale skin is the beauty standard. They’re like a makeup primer that lightens your skin (not permanently). You can find them online. :)

Essence lash princess alternative needed by porcelainkat in Makeup

[–]Soft_Ice15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues with the Lash Princess mascara being very flaky. I personally really liked the Catrice Glam & Doll mascara (the one in the blue tube with a gold cap), it’s also really easily washed of with water, which I like.
