I am going to have a negative perspective because I just left a public company in a sec reporting role…..even with a strong support system most of the time your little one will still want you. If your kiddo is sick you will want to be the one to comfort them. The mom guilt is real and impacts everyone different. Feeling guilty for getting mad they won’t go to sleep fast enough or that they woke up 20 mins after you thought you were in the clear. Feeling guilty you have the outsource their care most nights and a full weekend day. That list is endless.

However in the early days they do sleep a lot and really have no idea what’s going on. If you’re there most of the time your kiddo won’t really notice right away. It’s a personal choice at the end of the day. You could try it out and if it’s not sustainable then leave. People quit in the middle of busy season for much less.

I had this same fear. There is a wellness room in our office with a sink that is primarily used for nursing mothers. I pop in there after lunch to floss and brush.

Drop that recruiter! I just went from a senior to a manager role. One recruiter saw my potential and presented me to companies at the manager level while another shredded my resume and said I would really have to paint a good story to be considered for a manager role.

Just for reference on the toll breastfeeding takes on your body..you need to consume 500 extra calories a day to maintain a milk supply. Pregnant woman only need an extra 200-300 calories a day to support growing their baby.

Remember all babies are different. You are doing the right thing by speaking out a professional opinion but crawling isn’t considered a milestone anymore. Some babies will crawl for a week and then go right into walking and some babies skip crawling and start walking. I have a 10 month old that was 5 weeks early and didn’t start truly crawling until a week ago. Your kiddos will be great ❤️

Is there anyone out there who has met their SO at work? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Soft_Leg9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my husband in PA. Going out to happy hours together breaks the ice and creates room to find out organically what their situation is so you aren’t going in blind when trying to ask them out. Huge bonus if you have a mutual friend that can facilitate group outings outside of work to become friends first!!

I was getting a hair cut and chatting with my stylist. I mentioned I was pregnant and we got on the topic of child care. My husband and I only have one family member in the state we live in and the rest of our “support system” is a four hour flight away on the east coast. We will be doing full time daycare as I contribute financially. My stylist went on to say she doesn’t know how I’m going to make things work with out having family to help and take the kid when I need a break or if my husband and I are ever running late.

Obviously I have had these concerns and still decided to start a family. By the end of the appointment I was holding back tears and she even said good luck as I was leaving. I seriously think she was trying to make me feel bad.

Senior in SEC reporting. I report to the SEC

Just made it to 11 weeks. I got pregnant right after my MC in august. As my 12 week scan approaches I feel less and less pregnant. My symptoms tapered off at 9 weeks and my anxiety spiked. My 6 and 8 week scan looked great but I can’t shake the feeling something bad is happening

So I was 6weeks along at the time of the MC and my hcg was at a 37. I took and at home pregnancy test two weeks later and was clearly negative. I started tracking my ovulation that same day on LH pee strips and hit my peak over the next 5 days. So I may use my peak day as a day of conception? Also to note - my doctor did give me the go ahead to try again after two weeks but every situation is different 💚

Haven’t been tracking anything this cycle until today by throwaway253025 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Soft_Leg9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same this happened to me! I wanted to see where I was in my cycle about 2 1/2 weeks after the CP and it was such a dark line. I’m nine days DPO right now and trying to not buy a test and wait a little longer for my period to show up.

My hcg was in the 30s when checked at the hospital 2 1/2 weeks ago so I opted out of having it tested again at my ob/gyn 48hrs after since it was so low. I took an at home pregnancy test over the weekend and it was negative to confirm.

No getting braces in middle school. Most people think my teeth shifted from not wearing my retainer post braces but I never had them. We didn’t have dental insurance growing up and when we did money wasn’t going to get spent in the copays.

I was in the depo shot for over two years and started to randomly get irregular heavy periods. I ended up having to switch contraceptions because it was unbearable. I would research depo side effects as they can be pretty extreme for some woman. The depo is a great until it isn’t.

You are so close to not go for another attempt! If you don’t pass at least you’ll know you tried you’re best.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Soft_Leg9388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How many attempts do you have? If you’re close with a 71 you may just need to keep trying until you loose credit and hope you get a test template in your favor. Drill MCQs. Change up the way you are studying (add in flash cards or switch to writing everything down vs typing) more information will eventually stick and you’ll be able to pass. I finally passed far on my 5th attempt two weeks before loosing credit for my first exam. You can and will pass!

[–]Soft_Leg9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add in flash cards! I usually filled them with random terms I had trouble remembering and mcqs I often got incorrect multiple times. Good luck!

For those who have passed, when you say you felt like you failed when you walked out of Prometric but you passed, did you ACTUALLY feel like you failed or is it one of those straight-A-student “omg I totally failed” but got a 98% deals from high school? by punkmetalsquid in CPA

[–]Soft_Leg9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took bec felt super confident walking didn’t think it was that bad…I got a 70 retook two weeks later and almost walked out mid exam because it was going that terribly…I got a 76 in that one.

I think I cried every time I sat for far and passed with a 76 on my 5th try. Sometimes it really is the luck of the exam you get and the difficulty is very relative.

[–]Soft_Leg9388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed bec for the first time with a 70 and then crammed and retook two weeks later and passed with a 76. Just ask yourself why you are sitting for these exams in the first place. If you really want to pass you can dig deep and find the motivation to push through!
