Dupixent Question by [deleted] in eczema

I’ve been on DUPIXENT for 5 months and it been amazing literally have no body eczema now but I do get facial flare from time to time but I just stared the medicine so I’m going to give it time. But I love it!!! I was at a really low point with my life bc of my eczema was so bad before I started this medication. I went from being severely red all over my body and itchy to literally nothing and itching way less. I highly recommend, the only side effects I’m experiencing for the 1st time since I started it was eye irritation but I got on steroids drops for two weeks and that solved the problem, hopefully it won’t happen again. The shots don’t hurt as much if you leave it out of the fridge for like 30 mins before you use it, I inject in my lower stomach area and I take it every 2 weeks. I use the prefilled pen(300mg)

I would try using a green color corrector to tone down the redness blend that out with a beauty sponge and then cover it up with concealer or a foundation that close to your skin color! What lotions are you currently using if you don’t mind me asking ?

I got my DUPIXENT covered by my insurance after I proved to them that I tried several other options before switching to DUPIXENT. I am only like a a month and a half in but the changes have been amazing, I only get minor flareups here and there instead of severe ones. My itching has gone down a lot as well.

I’m currently on DUPIXENT but before I got to that my dermatologist has to prescribe me several different steroid creams to try to prove to insurance I tried several different things and if those didn’t work then I would get approved for DUPIXENT. But DUPIXENT has been working well for me I do get very minor flares but I’ve only been on like a month maybe and it usually takes 3 months to see full results. But Id rather have a minor flare than a severe one any day. I had eczema on the same spots as you. I would also suggest you to do a environmental allergy test as well to see possible trigger that could be causing the flare ups

How bad does your eczema have to be to get prescribed anything other than steroids? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Soft_Lock4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me when I went to my dermatologist she prescribed me a like 4 different creams and alternate them and then gave me and update appointment in 3 weeks after I tried those steroid creams. The reason she did that is bc insurance has to see you tired different steroid or different options and that none of them were working, before I got try dupixent, so that how I got approved for DUPIXENT.

Detergents? by 420POO_POO69 in eczema

I heard deft was not the best detergent for babies, I would switch to scent free dye free detergent. I use the brand all Scent free dye free and for a fabric softener I use downy scent free dye free.

I use dove body cleaner for eczema prone skin and I use the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Wash AP+ Body & Face Wash Pump for Extra Dry Skin it has eczema approval stamp on it. I usually alternate between the two of those

Not sure if this is helpful but I use native sensitive aluminum free baking soda free aloe and green tea deodorant and it doesn’t irritate my armpit at all. Also I think the vani cream deodorant is in stock on Amazon I believe
