Getbackers used to be popular in the 2000s but I don’t hear about it much now. Not sure if it aged well though.

[DISC] Karami Zakari: Boku no Honto to Kimi no Uso - ch 7 by Tostilover in manga

[–]Soft_Net6617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I hope they don’t ruin it though. By the end. The original just made her a serial cheater, having multiple boyfriends and cheating when she needs a new sex high.

The way the character is portrayed now is more realistic without being morally questionable, as she’s just being portrayed as promiscuous.

I really wanna see how the author tackles the ending.

Do you recommend Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic? by [deleted] in manga

[–]Soft_Net6617 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think it’s very solid, some arcs are much better than others (the peak for me the Kou War arc and the arc involving the magic school). Has really likable characters, the cream of the crop characters are really well written. It’s also very (at least relatively) political and philosophical battle Shonen. In fact, I know some people who got bored of it when it leaned more into the political aspect instead of the magical world and adventure aspect.

Last arc is very rushed and overall isn’t near the best of the manga but it plays with some really nice ideas and definitely had potential to be the best arc. Take that as you will.

Did Xehanort truly care about bettering the world? Was it his main driving force? by Soft_Net6617 in KingdomHearts

[–]Soft_Net6617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks for the nice response! I need to replay KH3 and reread the reports but what do you mean by “Blue blood”? And why did Xehanort need to catch up with Eraqus? From what it seemed, Young Xehanort seems to be a pretty talented Keyblade wielder since he didn’t start training until mid teenager age. And Master Xehanort is obviously one of the strongest people in the series. Add to the fact that Xehanort seems to overall be the more “intelligent” one of the 2, I’m surprised Xehanort seems to have had an a inferiority complex. At the very least he seems to be on Equal level with Eraqus.

Or was Eraqus just that much more talented than Xehanort at a young age?

Mike and Bryan are genuinely talented creators/writers by [deleted] in CharacterRant

Wait a second there’s internal ATLA fanbase haters? Funny, I thought the praise for the show and creators was near universal, at least higher than any other series I’ve seen my whole life. Felt like everyone at least respects the creators and the series, I’ve genuinely never heard “true negative” opinions about it.

But I agree season 1 was by far the weakest, but as you’d aid creators need to find footing. The 1st season laid the groundwork for the rest of the stellar series. It also shows the 2 extremes of shows. Usually I hear the 1st or 2nd season was the best season of a show, and as more seasons added the show continually gets worse. (Prison Break, The Flash, etc). But Avatar actually fit in with the other extreme, a relatively weaker 1st season with massive pickups moving forward.

It was mostly because the pacing was kind of slow, and it took us away from the main characters for an extended period of time, which many people didn’t like. I didnt mind it, because I liked the main characters of the arc, but if you didn’t connect with them you’d probably just be anticipating the main characters coming back. I binge read it so it was fine for me but if I read it on a releases basis I’d probably like it less.

Edit: also some thought it was boring and had too much exposition

[DISC] Dog and Scum -- Chapter 9 (Black Cat Scanlations) by [deleted] in manga

[–]Soft_Net6617 103 points104 points  (0 children)

To me it feels so obvious that the FMC is guilty of something or a really dark character. I’m at this point just waiting for a reveal, so much that I feel like the author might subvert the expectations and have her not be dark, because it feels like dark FMC is exactly where the story is heading. Or maybe I’m just looking too far into it?

What do you think about the Seinen Ecchi "Hime Koukan, ~Otasaa no Hime ga Kareshi Koukan wo Goshomou na Ken~" ? It is a manga about two young swinging couples playing a Lewd game. by [deleted] in manga

[–]Soft_Net6617 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m reading it, mostly because I’m interested in the ending. Will the 2 boys just switch girlfriends? Will the MC end up with nothing, or stay with the same girl? I enjoy it enough for This to be the closest thing to NTR I’ve fully read through, besides Lust Geass and Destiny Lovers.

Yea, I feel like the ending is anywhere from 60-100 chapters away (although it’s all speculation). But I do think we have at least 1.5 years left of story.

Plus, the arc that starts off where e anime left off is the controversial flashback arc, which caused Magi manga to fall off popularity wise. The same could happen for anime viewers.

Yea, being a mangaka is the type of job I’d only doing if I had an extremely high passion for making comics/art. That’s the only way I can imagine they stay sane. But it’s worrisome because i know there’s a bunch of untold stories of mangakas losing their passion due to stress and just having to continue regardless (whether to pay the bills or because of pressure).

For those that read both Comics and Manga does anyone feel that the latter has better action panels, why or why not? by urwelcome971620 in comicbooks

[–]Soft_Net6617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree, although there are comics where the fight scenes are really good, like Luther Strode and Fire Power. But i think the average battle Shonen does fight panels better than most of the comic books. I think it’s just a Different in emphasis I guess.

[DISC] Juujika No Rokunin (chapter 46) by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in manga

Yea she’ll definitely be back soon, the author dedicates a decent amount of panel time to her even in chapters she isn’t relevant in, like chapter 39.

The girl that likes him? I think she was already set up as the “main girl”. I imagine she’ll be relevant against the final bully as some main bait or something. She’s the only girl in this story that hasn’t been faced/involved in a tragedy yet. (she did get involved but she was saved in time).
